Quality
Great starter. I did six months of starting in two days. Had water in two of four cylinders. Took between 5 and 30 mins to get the motor started. This starter did work. Cooled off a few times with bottled water. Top notch quality. Cranked for way longer than I would expect from an Amazon product. 5+ stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect fit for my 2000 Johnson 130HP Ocean Pro
Perfect fit for my 2000 Johnson 130HP Ocean Pro. Installed in under a half hour. Very powerful, turning my engine over almost twice as fast as my tired old OEM starter. It is made in Taiwan, so I'm feel the quality is significantly better than a unit made in China.Update 5/18/2017This starter has exceeded my expectations. Still working great and still better, by a long shot, than my OEM starter. If this fits your motor I would not hesitate to buy it if I were you.

Great quality for the price. perfect fit
DB makes great products.not only was this starter 1/3 the cost of an OEM one I've bough other products in the past that have been great.o was quoted $200 each for ignition coils for my motorcycle and I got both from DB for 45 bucks.and they still work after a year on my high performance motorcycle engine. Not a cheap product at all.

the bendix on the starter sticks in the down position after a few start try's.
It's almost as though there is a washer or spacer missing on assembly that should have been in place for slippage when not being engaged.? Since there is no way to contact the seller, I cannot check on it.Also 2 of the mounting bolt holes had to be slightly enlarged to mount the starter.I'm not going to waste my time sending it back unless the seller wants to ship me another one that works properly, then I will return the defective one. Until then, I'll just use this one and hope the bendix works the sticking out. (btw, I also oiled and greased the bendix, but it didn't help)Update....As of August 1 this starter is junk and won't work. It only hums and starts to smoke, now. After taking the starter apart, I discovered that one of the four magnets on the inside of the casing was broken causing the starter to malfunction.

Working but one mount point not aligned
The starter works well and fixed my issue but the top mount hole doesn’t aline in my engine so l I’ll have to drill a bigger hole so I get all 3 points mounted. Would have given 5 stars otherwise

So far, so good
I've seen and heard some bad reviews on this starter, but for me, easy install, been out for two days started every time no issues. I'll give it more runs and I'll get update.

Highly Recommend
Just like the OEM unit. Turns out I didn't need to replace the starter after all. Using this on a 1992 Johnson 140 V4. The problem was that my main negative cable had been sliced before it entered the engine cowling some years ago. That splice had severely corroded over the years and was not passing the full current to the solenoid. Because of that the engine really bogged to start, gear would not disengage from flywheel, sometime just kill the battery trying to start the motor. After replacing the Main Switch, Solenoid, and Starter I finally found the real problem. The corroded splice in the negative cable. Maybe 3 strands of 2 gauge was all that was left. So I put a new splice in and voila!!! I left this starter installed as it feels good having a brand new starter. This old Johnny starts immediately now like a new engine.

Not pleased that I had to oversize drill the mounting holes ...
Works as expected. Not pleased that I had to oversize drill the mounting holes to get them all to line up with the motor casting holes. They were 'off' by at least 1/8" which in my opinion is too much of a loose tolerance.
