Cat Tarot: 78 Cards & Guidebook

This was my first tarot deck, purchased back in 2020. Everything about it called my name, purple, being the overall color scheme and cats being the central theme of the deck, which I absolutely adored. I love how colorful this deck is and it’s illustrations. I came to appreciate and acknowledge the clever illustrations over time. I would like to emphasize that my cards were purchased about three years ago and will obviously not reflect the state or condition of your purchase. You can tell that my cards have been through plenty of readings. The tapes seen on my cards are from early on in my learning process, I haven’t removed them because it’s a little reminder of how far I’ve come as a reader, it truly characterizes the deck as my own. I love the quality of this deck. Note that these cards are not as sturdy as other decks. If you’re a little harsher with your shuffling, you will notice little bends here and there. I will say this is definitely not a beginner friendly deck, as it’s directly geared towards an advanced reader. The minor arcana cards in this deck aren’t clearly labeled as a traditional set. You have to build familiarity with the cards in this deck, regarding roman numerals and the suits. The card descriptions in the guidebook are also harder to comprehend as a beginner. At this point, I know this deck like a like the palm of my hand, so know it is possible to learn and interpret this deck if you’re a beginner. I adore the charm and whimsical artwork of this deck, it’s still one of my go to decks. If you’re a fan of cats, go for it! (shoutout to my favorite cards in this deck) 🐾

I could no longer resist buying these and I'm glad I got them. I love the artwork. The imagery is different than what you see in traditional cards, so it has been good for exercising intuitive skills. A good little guidebook is included, and it even gives reversed meanings. The imagery is light with some clever humor, but meaningful. Even the cards we often dread seeing are not dark in this deck and I included a picture of a few. The cards have borders, which doesn't bother me. These cards are not too thick and not too big for my small hands, so shuffling isn't difficult, yet they don't feel flimsy or cheap. The readings feel right, if that makes sense. If you love cats and kittens, don't miss this one. Great deck and just so dang cute!

I ordered this deck a few days ago not certain of what to expect, but Cat Tarot has quickly become a favorite. I don't own a lot of fluffy decks, my tastes are usually more esoteric, and I'm not one of those old cat ladies who live down the street swilling tea and knitting booties for her feline pets, either. But this deck is amazing. The packaging is awesome, the little white book is a little purple book, the card stock is high quality, the backs are beautiful, and the cattization of familiar RWS-format cards is both witty and wise. The Megan Lynn Kott's beautiful artwork and Julia Smillie's narration of the booklet make an excellent pairing. The box is too cute to be believed. I am shocked more people haven't bought/reviewed this deck. (Then again, I have heard of some people trying to order it but learning it would take 1-2 months to ship? I didn't have that problem a few days ago). I hope they are back in plentiful stock soon. Note to parents whose children are always wanting to play with your tarot cards: this deck would be an awesome gift for a young learner. There is no nudity or frightening imagery in these whimsical cards. They are sure to delight people of all ages and experience levels.

This is such a delightful deck! It has nods to the RWS deck within most of the cards, with a few additional creative interpretations that hold their own. There are so many cat-specific moments in the cards that are adorable and lovely. The cards themselves are a nice thick weight too. The little book has creative descriptions of each card, that follow the tradition of the RWS deck but have insightful additional details too, specific to this deck. I purchased this deck because it has cute cats in the pictures, and I am so delighted to find it's a really smart and lovely tarot deck! I am excited to read with it!

I am new to reading tarot. I was very drawn to this deck because I love cats so much and found the art to be not only funny but beautiful. This deck is very charming. I thought maybe I would buy a more serious deck to use because this one was too silly, but I find that the imagery and symbolism is rich in this deck. It's clever and charming. I practice with it every day! The cards are of a good quality and easy to shuffle. The printed images are crisp and free from flaws. The image on each card in the deck was thoughtfully designed. The booklet that comes with the cards is full of cat-based wordplay yet it describes the meaning of each card succinctly. I still bought a big tarot book to do further research and learning, but the booklet does a good job. I even bought my friend a deck because despite her not having an interest in tarot, she does love cats. She was thrilled with it!! Lovely product.

I rarely write reviews, & although I have many oracle &/or tarot card decks, I've never written a review on one, but this deck is unique. Before this arrived, I thought: the world doesn't need another tarot deck (there are even several cat-themed ones). I couldn't have been more wrong!! This deck is amazing in it's depiction of cats: looking through the cards, I've seen cats in almost all situations portrayed! Cards are a comfortable size. Many card's symbolism follows traditional rider waite cards, which helps the reader instantly identify cards. The underlying vibe is positive and playful: traditionally negative cards are transformed into cat's arch enemies: dogs, and the vacuum cleaner, to name a few. Being a believer in positive psychology, I appreciate the positive messages the author delivers. Plus, they're accurate, but short. Just the facts. Negatives: font is incredibly small, I don't wear glasses, but have to use readers or a magnifying glass to read the book! Being new to this deck, some minor arcana cards are difficult to identify as their suit isn't clear (to me - probably my challenge). This deck is a no-brainer for cat lovers, especially ones into tarot.

These are so cute and perfect for cat lovers and beginner tarot readers. I've had so much fun with them already and have only tried the one card read. The book is small so I do have to wear my glasses to read it.
