5 - Monteverde Capless Gel Ballpoint Refill to Fit Parker Ballpoint Pens, Bold Point (Bulk Packed) (Black)

I'm a pen lover, with a large collection of pens. The vast majority of my pens are fountain pens, because I love the ability of the ink to flow onto a page without my having to push down. This gliding writing quality, and the rich ink line is what appeals to me. However, even I will admit that sometimes, a ballpoint is useful. I've never really liked the faint lines given out by most ballpoints. They only feel smooth when they're almost empty, when you've worn the ball down just so. This refill gives a very smooth writing experience, almost like writing with a fountain pen. I have a new appreciation for my Parker Jotter now.It does have a risk of smearing, if your hand goes over what you have just written.And, because it puts out so much ink, it runs out fairly fast. Whereas my Jotter refill would last well over a year, this one ran out in less than a month. But then, I wrote with it much more than I usually do with a ballpoint.

For a long time, I refused to use anything but fountain pens, because I love the feel of a nib gliding across paper, with the weight of the pen providing all the pressure needed to write. But sometimes you need a ballpoint or roller ball, e.g., when filling out certain forms. Also, it's nice to be able to lend someone a pen for few moments without having to explain how a fountain pen works, and why they shouldn't press as hard as they normally do.I use these refills in a Bastion bolt-action pen, which I always have with me. The feel is *almost* as good as a fountain pen. And the ink color has a more classic feel to it than most refills.I wish they lasted longer, but I suppose that's just a natural consequence of having such a generous ink flow, so there's nothing to be done about it.

I have been buying these gel refills from Amazon for almost 15 years. I have never experienced a problem with any of them. Some sit in my desk drawer for 5 years or more and still write well. These refills roll smoothly and lay down a nice broad line, unlike the bic-likes and pentels of the writing world. My hand goes immediately into cursive mode with these. They make even the poor writing effort look much better.

The ink wrote great for about 3 weeks, then started to get staccato and fade in certain parts of my writing. I'm gonna have to look for a different refill... the ink color and width were excellent though.

Arrived much sooner than estimated. Nice broad gel broad point refills for Parker pens.

I always get compliments on this ink when signing or lending my pen.I have ordered many times as I write frequently.Not the least expensive or longest lasting, however I like the quality name and product.
