Hobbyboss 1:350 Scale PLAN Type 033 Submarine and SH-5" Model Kit (Grey)

Bought this kit as I love building submarines. They are the perfect one day builds, don't take up too much room on the shelf and I just enjoy making them.I saw this one and I think HobbyBoss do great kits, and seeing as this one was only £7, it was a bargain too. It arrived today and I thought there was something wrong as the box was quite heavy. When I opened it, I got a real surprise. 2 kits for the price of one. The sub itself plus a clear moulded SH-5 Catalina style plane. I continued looking and found lots of plastic, a photo-etch sprue, a decal sheet, instructions and a paint guide. I had to pinch myself because I would have been more than happy to pay £15 - £20 for a kit with this much in it.The sprues are protected by wrapping and then stored in a bag to protect them. The parts are really well moulded and there was no warping at all. The PE parts where pure bonus and will add extra detail to the plane. The decals are crisp and well printed and the instructions and paint chart, as you would expect from HobbyBoss are well printed on high quality paper.My only gripe is I bought it as a one day build for the shelf, but it deserves a full diorama, so will take a bit longer lol.Great kit, great detail and at £7, goes alongside my HMS Ark Royal & HMS Eskimo £10 kit off here as a real bargain!

Detail is good and it’s good value for money at this price. But fit and quality isn’t great. The decals are not usable. They disintegrate in contact with water, which is a shame because you do need those decals

i bought this thinking it would be a nice easy kit like many of there submarine kits i have already bought. Well it is not, it contains a very well moulded kit and some photo etch parts, so for the money it a extremely high grade kit.

Anyone else received both the sub and plane model but not me. Not worth 000!
