a HUGE help!
My son has had bowel problems since he started solid food. After many years and dozens of doctors the only *wrong* diagnosis that was given was lactose intolerance (*no) and chronic constipation (*well duh! buy why?). We'd been prescribed everything you can think of: soy formula/milk, Kayo syrup in the milk, Activia yogurt, enemas, Myralax, milk of magnesia, etc. Nothing worked consistently and we would up right back at square one...which started with numerous enemas to clean him out so the rest of the stuff could work. ((I mean can you imagine the trauma that he has experienced by not being able to poop, being given enemas every other month, and stress only increasing the problem because of the cause-effect cycle?!)) It was a living nightmare for both of us for almost 6 years! Finally I got online and started trying to find something that would work for my poor little boy since none of the doctors could/would. I found that IBS has two ends of the spectrum. Yup, you heard it...TWO! Either you get really bad diarrhea or you get really bad constipated (and no change in diet works to aid long-term). Well there you have it! After a day on the internet researching I was able to do what it took numerous specialists NOT to do. So we had a name (finally) and from there I researched what would help.I came across Amazon's list of reviews for this product and started reading (thanks to you who posted!). I figured out that Myralax is good for keeping the stool soft (as it is a stool softener) and the MOM is good for making you go...so why not try a combo of the two? We tried the liquid MOM and that was a fail, even the mint flavor. Trying to make my [then] 8 year old drink that daily was a bust. That's when I found the pills and started ordering them in the 4-pack on Amazon. We started a daily routine of 1 bottle of water (containing one sugar free drink packet [like they sell at Walmart]w/ one dose of Myralax) combined with 1 Phillips MOM pill. Once we got him going regularly we cut back on the Myralax mixture to only 2 or 3 times per week, but still a pill a day.Needless to say he has not had an enema in exactly 1 year!!! Anytime he starts to have a problem going we just add another day of Myralax to the week until he feels better. It is a sad thing that my 10 year old has had to deal with this most of his life, but at least now we know how to handle it and make life better for all of us!**2013 Update: We have been using the Phillips pills [daily] combined with Myralax [a few times a week] for over a year and a half now and my son is able to go regularly with no issues. Occasionally he forgets to take one or the other and if missed for too long you can tell a difference...so we just up the dose of Myralax to get him regular again. [He's been enema and blockage free since we started this regiment!] I highly recommend these pills to anyone who has issues on a regular basis! They are easier to take then drinking the chalky liquid and can be carried more easily if you travel. (I keep one bottle in the car for him to take on the way to school). Good luck to you who have the same problems as my son...I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

Works great
I was diagnosed with IBS from chronic constipation about a year ago, and have tried many medicines to alleviate this problem such as Miralax and Phillip's liquid Milk of Magnesia. The Miralax wasn't bad, but it's expensive, and it does make drinks thicker. The Milk of Magnesia is just hard for me to swallow without gagging. I'm so happy I discovered these caplets because they work the same as Miralax and Milk of Magnesia, but without having to gulp down a lot of chalky liquid. I take 3 caplets every 2-3 days and they keep me very regular.
