Best Crimper for Dryconn Dry Splice Crimps
This crimper has become an indispensable tool in my arsenal, especially when working with the copper crimps that accompany DryConn splices for my landscape lighting installations. The strength and reliability of the connections it creates are nothing short of remarkable; in fact, I've found it nearly impossible to pull apart the connection once it's been expertly crimped with this tool, even with the might of my own hands. It's like the secret ingredient to ensuring that my landscape lighting installations are not only secure but also built to withstand the test of time and the elements. In the world of electrical work, precision and robustness are paramount, and this crimper has consistently delivered on both fronts, making it a true gem in my toolkit.

Great Tool - If you know what it is for!
This is a tried and true electrician's tool that has passed the test of time. As some have noted, the instructions are wanting, nay... I say near useless in getting someone who has never used such a tool to understand how the adjustment slide works and why. That aside, the tool is rock solid and crimps copper and steel crimp sleeves and splice caps. This C24 4-way crimper is for crimps and sleeves that are un-seamed! Standard crimpers (one dimple rather than the C24's four dimples) are for seamed crimp connectors. Do not use the C24 tool on standard seamed crimp connecters. That will deform the crimp tube at the seam and make a weak connection. Likewise, do not use standard crimpers (like lineman's pliers with crimp spot) on un-seamed crimps and sleeves as you will not have a consistent even pressure connection--especially with multiple wires! This tool is unparalleled for ground splices in junction boxes. It is neat, secure, and most importantly compact which saves space in tight boxes (tight boxes are fire hazards)! Great product for the serious electrician who takes pride in their work!

Easy, simple, works
This product makes sense, appears to be well made, works great, and is easy to use.The handles are soft plastic, and the operation is smooth. It was easier than I expected to complete a crimp, and the crimps appear very solid to me. Yes, the head is a little large, but I would not trade for a smaller tool because I am so pleased. The handles can be locked in the closed position. This tool is actually less expensive than some of its counterparts.I expect to have this tool for a long time, and will get much use out of it. It is overall a simple, easy to use, reliable tool.I purchased this tool on a recommendation from Ideal - a person there recommended it for the Ideal NC-8 connector.

If you want a 4-way romex crimper this is the only one
They have a monopoly on these. There are no knock offs so if you want a quad romex crimper you have to buy this one. I imagine every pro electrician must have one if they are required or want to crimp the grounds. It's OK but in my opinion it need more leverage, say longer handles or mechanical equivalent.

Love it.
I had one of these but it was stolen about 20 years ago along with other tools I had. I have missed it ever since and finally bit the bullet and bought another one. You can find a less expensive crimper and one that is more versatile but you will be hard pressed to find one that works better for the applications where this can be used. The four jaws that do the crimping apply even pressure all around the terminal and once it is locked on, the terminal is there to stay. There is a hole in the head where the jaws are so you can't use this tool if you can't remove it over the end of a wire or terminal. For example if you spice two wires together that are both fixed at the opposite ends you won't get the tool off.Great tool. I should have replaced it years ago.

I love this tool and crimp connectors
I love this tool and crimp connectors. Wire nuts are ok but I never completely trust that I got all the wires together or they all stay together. I did a few test crimps with this when I first got it and it was difficult to pull the wires apart with pliers. For me this is like the difference in plumbing, soldering copper or using pex crimp, crimp is so much better and easier to work with. I have also found in tool buying that it is generally better to buy name brand, I have never used any other crimper than Ideal to know if this is true in this circumstance but the Ideal tool works great.
