Working so far!
Got some solar lights for my balcony, and the original double sided tape wasn't adhering to the stucco well, so I figured I'd give this a try. So far, so good!

The Sticky Situation You Actually Want to Be In
You know how some things in life just… stick with you? LOL, This tape takes that a bit literally. The SANKA Heavy Duty Double-Sided Tape (a.k.a. 3M VHB 5952 Foam Tape) is basically the Swiss Army knife of adhesives. I grabbed the roll for a few home & garage projects, and this tape is no joke. It clings to metal, glass, plastic, and even a questionable “outdoor decor” ideas.Mounted LED strips in my workshop. Still up, still shining. It's held a metal trim piece on my car in place through two thunderstorms and a trip to the car wash, and secured a small tool organizer to my RV wall without the need to drill holes. I haven't driven it yet so not sure how it'll hold up to the rigors the road puts on things, but so far, so good. It's says it's made for that.Pro tips:Clean the surface like you’re prepping for surgery—rubbing alcohol is your friend.Give it time to bond (24–72 hours for superhero strength).Cutting it is easy, but getting that red backing off? Let’s just say I’ve become very skilled with a razor blade.Leave it in the bag it came in - the edges are even trying to permanently stick to things, and the bag it came in is the PERFECT place to continue to store it.If you ever want to remove it… well, you might not. This is industrial strength and I think it'll require a pry-bar.At $12.99 for 18 feet, it’s one of those shop staples you’ll find a use for every time you turn around. Just don’t get it stuck to something accidentally, because it’s not forgiving. That might be exactly what you want for car trim, LED lights, or other permanent applications—this tape is the real deal.I hope this review has been helpful for you.

3M VHB is the ultimate double sided tape
We have several shipping containers at an off grid property and we do not want to put any holes in them that would create a corrosion or leak risk. We heavily rely on 3M VHB to semi-permanently mount things inside and out...and we have also used it to mount heavy duty neodymium magnets to items so we can move them around the shipping container. For example, we VHB tape magnets to solar motion sensor lights so we can move them to other locations if we want, we VHB magnets to the edge of a ladder so we can get an extra pop to hold it when leaned against the shipping container wall during storage, etc, etc. Some things we found helps it function properly are to be sure you clean the surfaces with rubbing alcohol. You also need to allow it a certain amount of time to bond before actually using it: 50% of the ultimate bond strength after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and 100% after 72 hours at room temperature...shorter at higher temperatures. Otherwise it is as easy to use as any other type of double sided tape. If it bonds properly then it will not be easy to remove, but it is possible. We really like 3M VHB and this 3/4" is a good size that allows multiple different uses because the smaller strip we have used seems a little more prone to peeling apart. We had several VHB bonds fail because we didn't allow enough time for the adhesive to bond. We had one good bond where the "foam" in the middle ripped leaving the sticky stuff on each side...I guess we didn't have enough for the weight of the item.Note that the manufacturer recommends only a 24 month shelf life.

Best for permanent bonds
So I'm certainly no expert when it comes to Vhb double sided tape and if there are actual differences inside that name that have different properties etcBut I always looked at double sided tape as either unreliable or meant to be easily removed/temporary like the double sided I use for woodworking. But about a year or so ago I picked up Vhb tape for some equipment that I needed to stay out without movement. And to this day it has done exactly that.So as far as a double sided tape you can rely on, Vhb type has been exactly that.So personally this type has been the best I personally have ever used and seems to hold up in the long run.It is easy to cut and apply with scissors or exacto blade etcJust cut, stick, apply pressure and forget about it.My suggestion, if you're looking for just a temporary double sided tape and plan to remove the item there are double sided tape more friendly for that. But if you want a more permanent solution, this to me is the best out there.

Stuck on Solutions
I received the SANKA heavy duty double sided tape, and it’s quickly become my tool of choice for mounting jobs around the house and garage. The roll feels substantial, and the adhesive is strong enough to securely hold various items—I’ve used it to attach metal hooks inside my garage for hanging cords, and the bond has held through some serious Texas heat. Installation is straightforward, with no messy residue left behind, which means I won’t be spending extra time cleaning up if I ever need to reposition something. One afternoon, I finally got around to mounting LED light strips for the office—no screws or drills required. The tape handled the weight and temperature changes like a champ, and it was satisfying to see the lights stay put after flipping the switch a few hours later. It’s equally effective for small home decor projects, and I even managed to fix a loose trim piece on the car with just a short strip. Some folks might find the tape thickness—a cushioned foam—less ideal for thin-profile mounting, but that bit of padding works for me, especially when I’m leveling things on uneven surfaces. If you’re looking for an adhesive for metal, plastic, or even outdoor projects where strength and weather resistance matter, this tape checks those boxes. Just remember, plan your placement carefully, because once it bonds, it’s meant to stick for the long haul.
