Heddon Torpedo Prop-Bait Topwater Fishing Lure with Spinner Action

I will start off by saying I was not coaxed nor endorsed for writing this review; I bought this on my own accord. This lure is worth every penny and then some. I have hooked my personal best and probably will remain that way for a very long time with this lure. Its simplistic and incredible. A toss out and retrieve slow to medium speed and let it do the work with an occasional twitch for attention. I hooked this 18 inch Bass using this lure. If I could have every single color of these I would. Trust me guys its a few bucks and you should 100% add this lure to your collection.Update: Since writing my review wit seems the propeller on the back doesn't work as well. Doesn't make the lure completely useless but the bites certainly went down as it attracts fish. Deducting 2 stars.

You haven’t fished topwater until you fish a Torpedo, hands down one of the absolute best! If you can get to a current, cast in to the current and let the water carry it down. Make sure the prop is spinning, if it’s not give your rod tip a little snap and hang on! If you are fishing still water a slow roll works great or it also makes a great popping action. Very Versatile lure. Consider color by water clarity and light penetration.

After watching the little video of how to use these torpedo, I went and test it out with these lures, caught some great size bass and northern likes. They work really well, especially the 3 sec wait and pull in.

Like any lure, this is not for every occasion or location, but at the right time in the right place it can be fairly productive. This is the 4th time I've purchased, and there's a reason. I'm no master angler, but relative to my other baits, this is well above average performer. Pops with with intermittent retrieval near weeds and shallows in the spring, and moderate steady retrieval in the later season.

You will catch fish with these. They flutter perfectly on retrieval and if you want to make a commotion on the surface, then this is the one. As the directions say, cast and let it hit and wait a moment. Then start to retrieve and make it look like the yummy frog it imitates, or whatever it is supposed to be. The fish cannot refuse it and will hit it about halfway back to the boat. Use a leader with this one as the northern pike come from other lakes over dry land to attack this lure. As a bass lure it is nice as the spinner spins all the time even with just a slow retrieve. Unlike some that I have owned, it always spins and does not get caught up in itself.Finally, this thing can be cast a long distance and I do not know why as it is an aerodynamic brick. Yet, it cast as far as a heavier spoon. It is one of my favorite lures and the best surface lure I have ever gotten wet.

These are nice lures for catching bass. The action on the top of the water attracts them. When using my friends exact same lure last week I caught three descent ones. That is what caused me to buy one for myself.

Another classic. I love the clear, it always seems to outfish my other colors.This is a nice topwater that I have been using since the 70's! If there is topwater action ( early morning, evening magic time), this one usually gets attention. I cast it, let it sit for a sec, then ooch about 18" increments.I wish the Teeny version was in clear!

These Lures are great for the shallow Creeks and Streams here where I live! They float on top so they don't get snagged often! And I can play these like a champ for a few minutes to over an hour if I wanted to,in the current and eddies.Good for Bass Trout and many other species here in West Virginias' Lakes Rivers and Streams!

Bought for a gift because I knew it was a great product. Tho a little expensive.

First cast as it hit the water I landed a 4lbs bass.

Great for Chain Pickerel. Rarely ever lose a fish once hooked. Have not had much luck with bass but drives the pickerel crazy.
