Hand pain and tiredness relief at its best, securely held and with minimal effort to set up
I had a brace to try it out for my diabetic cheiroarthropathy, where there is a steady reduction in flesh on the hands, with the intense symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, along with thumb muscle wastage, amass. There is also nerve damage, neuropathy, leading to painful numbness and a lack of signals reaching fingers and thumbs. I simply cannot fault this product except perhaps for slight bobbling. It holds the thumb in place and reduces pain so much, as I take opiates for this pain when it is out of control. I now simply cannot live without them. I have one for each hand, but you can alternate hands if you want to save money and only buy one. The straps have the labelling along them, so it's better to get them facing the correct direction, once you have reached your final tension required. The main label that advertises Mueller is along the longest strap of the three that there are. To summarise the 3 straps: 1) one strap to wrap around your thumb to the tension that you require - attaches as velcro component so it can stay on the thumb area or be attached to the main body of the brace on the hand; 2) one strap to wrap around your hand, which you extend via the rear side area of your hand, and there is a 'gate' area specifically for this to be achieved to the best fit possible (extremely important and good for security); 3) one strap to wrap along the base of the hand / wrist area, so that the wrist is held in the best possible comfort. It is indeed breathable and I love the warmth that it offers me as my blood circulation is poor after so many years of diabetes. Sometimes my fingers/thumbs appeared really white from poor circulation, but the pain was minimised by this support. I tried to have a break from using it constantly, as I read the customer reviews here and became worried. But I don't really need to worry. It's in use when I do hand muscle building exercises, as it gives the edge that I need to work out, both with Chinese silver chime ball pairs and with stress balls. The only negative that I can see, with relation to bobbling, is that they can get dirty pretty quickly, so need to be washed regularly. For this reason, I honestly prefer having a pair of them. I'm not too dependent yet, but I would much rather use these braces than take opiates (I take fentanyl, so imagine how painful it is). After losing my sole brace at hospital today after my haemodialysis session, I am straight back ordering a new pair of them, so that I can restore my reduction in pain relief use. Honestly, hand on heart, I highly recommend this for any diabetic like me, any carpal tunnel syndrome sufferer, any muscle wastage sufferer, any cubital syndrome sufferer and anyone on dialysis with knuckle pains and spontaneous fractures. I am a small size and it fitted very well. I couldn't ask for a better product for my suffering. I hope that your experience of chronic pain will also be dramatically reduced like I found. This is indeed a product worth paying extra for, that will be worth every single penny. And if you don't look after yourself properly, it's only you who you answer to... Best wishes.

Mueller Thumb Stablilising Brace
I received my thumb brace yesterday and I am very pleased with it. It's very comfortable with two stays running up either side of the thumb joint which is a huge improvement over the last Mueller brace I had, which had the metal stay running over the joint. When that joint swelled more than usual the stay pressed on it and caused more pain. The other bonus to me with this brace is that it isn't made of neoprene which the other one was. I am allergic to neoprene and used to have to wear cotton gloves underneath the old brace to minimise the skin irritation that it caused. Having the three straps means that it fits better too. Apart from working on the computer I make jewellery and the fact that it leaves my top thumb joint free to move make that much easier. It looks a lot nicer than the other one and being black hopefully won't get stained like the skin coloured one which ended up looking gross in spite of washing it. I'll be able to wear it at craft fayres to make jewellery without feeling that it is offputting.

The brace itself is great, but be wary if you have very small hands
The brace itself is great, but be wary if you have very small hands. I measured my wrist and it fell in the range (though right at the bottom) and, combined with the 'can fit children' assertion, I felt confident it would adjust to fit. However although the wrist fits fine, on my hands the velcro wraps right round and back over the mesh (which is obviously not designed to take the constant peeling off of the velcro). This huge wrap round also makes it very bulky if you want to wear it inside a glove and also stiff in the wrong places. On the box there is actually an ML i.e. medium/large sticker and I think it is best suited for people with medium+ sized hands. Although I am only 5ft tall, my wrists are small too so I don't think my hands are out of proportion for my wrists, though that's possible of course.

Relief at last!
After wasting money on a few cheaper ones, I decided to go for this to support my trigger thumb. So glad I did, this offers fantastic support without feeling bulky. The pain in my thumb has reduced substantially and it is so comfortable I can wear it a day and when I go to bed.It is very easy to adjust and fits perfectly, wish I'd just bought this sooner.

Great support for CMC joint arthritis sufferers.
Great support at the base of the thumb/wrist for CMC arthritis sufferers like me. Really structured design with three Velcro adjustments which leave little room to move the thumb which is exactly what’s required sometimes. I have small hands and find difficulty getting supports to fit properly, but this is very adjustable and I’ve found it a great help.

Bought two for myself and two for my farther - money very well spent
My wife and I just moved to a new house, and in the process of moving boxes, assembling 7 IKEA closets and all the other stuff, I severely overworked my hands. I couldn't move the thumb on my right hand without a sharp, intense pain shooting through my arm and my hand had a tingling sensation in it that lasted for 3 months. My farther has wrecked his wrist through 40 years of hard labor and he's worn braces on his hands for years.I bought a total of 4 braces, two for each, and the quality is astounding - I wore a different brand brace for a short while, and the steel part kept poking out of the brace, and I sliced myself in the face twice, almost poking my eye out. But not with this Mueller brace, the quality is amazing and it has two steel plates for stabilizing the thumb on two axis.I wore the braces for a few months until my hands recovered and I've been most pleased with wearing them for a full day without any major nuisance.Well recommended.
