I have bought(2021) a type cover with Surface Pro 7. After a year of usage, it stopped working. I tested the key board/type cover with other surface pro it works. After MS support found that the docking port in the surface has gone faulty and it would cost about 40k+ repair it.I bought a bluetooth keyboard and it works well. If you've used the Surface Pro, you know the SP keyboard is fantastic. This one is identical to the one I purchased in a bundle with my new SP7+. I bought this one for my wife's SP6. She was using a keyboard from a SP3, which was 9 years old and the original keyboard (the first generation of the pro keyboards) was getting ratty and I decided to buy her one of the updated models. While the ratty original one still worked fine, she LOVES the upgraded design of the slightly separated keys and overall better build quality.

Replacement for broken keyboard on surface laptop. Worked like a charm

This keyboard is an absolute joy to type on and it’s almost essential to have for a surface pro. The keys feel great - not as nice as mechanical mind you, but you get nice feedback. It has 3 levels of brightness which is nice and auto-dims the lights after not using them for a bit which is helpful for battery life on your surface pro.The trackpad is very nice and smooth, and with windows precision drivers, everything feels buttery smooth when you’re working.The fabric that this keyboard is made out of feels very nice and premium, however I will say that I’m not sure how it’ll hold up over time - that remains to be seen.One thing to note is that I had purchased an identical model # from Best Buy for the same price - $169.99; Best Buy’s one didn’t have a fingerprint sensor, while the one I received from Amazon did... so obviously I kept the one with the fingerprint sensor, but I’m not sure why they differ even with the same model number. None of the product pictures on Amazon show a fingerprint sensor, and the reviews I looked at didn’t show any fingerprint sensor. Maybe Amazon made a mistake? Either way I’m not complaining about getting more for the same price. Just note that it may not come with a fingerprint sensor if that’s what you’re looking for.

Makes my Surface Pro 6 into a nice mini-laptop. Good to type on for short periods of time. I like the light up keys and that i dont have to separately charge it. Also you can wrap it completely backwards and the Surface Pro acts as a tablet without having to detach (the keyboard doesnt react in that mode). When in use, you can have the keyboard flat or at a slight angle. I looked at a lot of OEM keyboards and glad i went with Microsoft's.
