SEMI Open for excellence sounstaging.. Flat response.. Low sub base response but crystal clear vocals so might not be suitable for all.. crystal clear highs, strong flat mids and deep bass(100hz plus) ...external Dac or pre amp recommended.. And if you can afford Sonar works reference app to eq the response for more responsiveness for sub /low bass..(35hz plus). . does my job done for mixing..Also not suitable for noisy environment so room treatment must..

SO THIS PRODUCT IS ABOUT THE AKG K240.LET ME START FROM THE BUILT QUALITY, HANDLE WITH CARE FOR LONG TERM USE, IF IT IS A PHYSICAL DAMAGE YOU WON'T GET WARRANTY.THE SOUND QUALITY IS FLAT. HIGHS ARE CLEAR MIDS ARE GOOD BUT BASS ARE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO HEAR. THIS HAS AN ALMOST FLAT SOUND STAGE.I AM BUYING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THE FIRST PRODUCT I GOT DISTORTED TOO MUCH WHEN I INSERTED IN MY AUDIO INTERFACE BUT WHEN THE REPLACEMENT CAME I GOT AMAZED. THE SOUND WAS JUST AWESOME. WIDE SOUND STAGE, EACH ELEMENT ALMOST CAN BE IDENTIFIED IF THE SOUND YOU HEAR IS PROPERLY MIXED.RECOMENDATION: HEAR *HARRIS JAYARAJ TAMIL SONGS* IN YOUTUBE FOR CRYSTAL CLEAR SONGS.HE IS TAMIL INDUSTRY'S BEST SOUND ENGINEER TILL DATE.SO AS SAID IN THE TITLE THIS IS NOT FOR CASUAL LISTENING, BUT IF YOU LOVE FLAT SOUND IT IS OKAY. Bought this primarily to practice Electric guitar and secondary for everyday musicAnd man it stands out for both of them. Bang for the price. Lossless from Apple music sounds surreal.For iPhone users disable the Headphone safety limit in settings or else output will be below average.Highly recommend this, if you are into neutral and natural sounds.

The sound clarity is good. The things to be noted areThe sound is nearly flat.The bass is ample(not recommended for bass heads)Mids and highs are very well detailedGood sound stage55 ohms needs an amp to drive .Music genre that could be enjoyed better:Hard rock , rock, metal(all varieties) ,symphonies, classics , jazz , bluesOne could say this is a good open back for audiophiles with a tight budget.

The problem with cans like K240 Classic is, they are comparatively high performing and hence will need a decent power input. So if you are not using it with a mid-range Amp or a DACAMP, you might feel it is low in volume and the bass is missing and blah blah. In reality, they sound quite neutral, but if you do have a bass gain, they give you enough thump for your ears (not thunderstorm bass, but enough bass).These btw are semi-open cans and hence the soundstage and imaging are well sorted and that is the reason that the bass is not the topmost feature of these headphones (and yes, it hence leaks audio). A very positive thing about semi-open cans is that they are comfortable to wear, airy and provide you decent audio details. The mids and highs are just impeccable!If you don't have something to drive these headphones don't buy it. These are entry level audiophile cans and can't be expected to perform to their capacity with average china made phones. But, if you do have a decent setup (or are planning one) please go ahead. Good to Pair with Fiio A5, Schiit Fulla, XDUOO XD-05 etc.

Amazing sound quality.. bass isn't as expected.. lightweight.. extremely long cable.. very comfortable
