Only book on Amazon that covers Informatica. I purchased this book some time ago after starting a new position as an ETL Developer, and it has been priceless thus far. This book, combined with some formal training from the Informatica website, will provide you with all the basic Informatica knowledge needed to learn the software. A+, would advise others to purchase this item.

Very easy to follow and understand! I'm a beginner of Informatica Powercenter and had a hard time to find help online. This book guides me through step-by-step examples and instructions. Must read especially for beginners!

this e-book is useless. (Search function goes from word to word
Noe of the text has been indexed or linked to any pointers. You can't really use the Table of Contents to find what you need, then click on a link that can bring you there. Nor are the page numbers listed in the TOC usable (because the only marker you have is your "Location #", which isn't realted to any indexing. This make it impossible to look for anything that you are specifically interested in. Unless you are prepared to search thru page by page from front to back to find what you are looking for, this e-book is useless. (Search function goes from word to word, but you still have no control, or information what the actual location is)

Wasted 15$ for nothing
I have just started with this book as I have been told to learn Informatica for a Project I am going to work. Bought a kindle edition. The issue with the book(I have only read few pages so far) is not with the content, but with the pictures. I am using Kindle cloud reader and I am not able zoom in the picture. No point in reading a book which tries to explain things with lots of screen shot. Then I tried installing the Kindle Reader application(in Ubuntu using Wine) to find out if I can zoom in the picture. That also do not have any provision to zoom in the picture. My next grudge is related to the software installation portion. The book says 'Raise shipping SR in Informatica Support' ..and he describes some client installation. What about the PowerCenter..how do I install? With this information I do not think anyone who wants to learn this product will be able to install the necessary software. Wasted 15$ for nothing.

Book is good for beginners and fresher
I wouldn't say that this book is a complete reference for Informatica. But it does have very good descriptions of the mainline features. The lab that is included is passable but I wouldn't say it was as nitty gritty as it should be for a complete reference. More like here is a high level overview, good luck in the real world. Buy this book if you don't know where to start. If you have more than 2 years of experience you won't find anything in here that a google search can't find.

Good for beginners
Good for beginners. Mistakes in labs, very poor quality of pictures, not clearly described how to prepare environments for labs, mistakes in scripts for preparing environments for labs.

Use the 'Getting Started' guide from Informatica instead!
Not very good. You can do better by following the Getting Started guide that come with the Informatica product.
