Big Magic for Little Hands: 25 Astounding Illusions for Young Magicians Review: Well written magic book for all ages. - This book is good. I’ve got a lot of magic books but have had a tough time finding tricks to teach my kids who are 4-5. They’re pretty little but they see me performing and they want to do it too! Most of the tricks involve props that you can make from stuff around the house or a trip to the craft store. I like that there is a lot of arts/crafts involved in the effects. It helps the kids make the tricks their own, incorporating the secrets and test them out. This isn’t the stuff they teach kids in school! There’s good material here for many age groups and as they get older, we’ll be able to do more complicated things. The book is well written and the instructions are clear. I was glad to find this book and am excited to turn my kids on to some fun stuff that they can build and do! Review: It was a gift - Twins was a gift and the children have really enjoyed it

Best book of magic for kids
I am in my second semester of teaching a magic class. When I saw this book that Joshua Jay wrote, it had to be good. I have been a member of the Magic Castle since 2004 and have seen magic of all kinds. From children's show to the big illusions and met hundreds of magicians. The kids in my class liked looking at the book and I think some will be purchasing it. It covers many magical effects from close to stage magic.

Nine year old niece loved this
I bought this for my niece who likes magic and she loved this book. It had awesome illustrations and it is such a great size. Such a nice book and hours of fun for kids. I like that this was everyday magic. Nothing super complicated needed to do these tricks. My niece is 9.

Requires building your own props.
You'll need to construct a lot of props to use the book. It's more than many people may want to do if you are just starting someone out on magic. No tricks included, you need to build your own, but if you are willing to do that it contains some fun tricks, but be aware that you will need to build things to use the book.

Not the junk magic tricks that bore you to death. Perfect Gift for kids 8 and older
My 10 year old suddenly developed a love of magic after seeing her first magic show on a Disney Cruise. This book has great tricks for kids who really want to learn magic. It’s not the simple junk tricks you buy in the little kids magic box set.

I bought this, as well as the “yet to arrive” Magicians Hat, gloves & wand and am giving it to brothers aged 6 & 10 for Easter. They live hands on games and this will be something the whole family can have fun with. And once they have the tricks down pat, they’ll be amusing everyone they can.
