Very usefull for counting of RPM
This is vary good product.

Good Product
A well finished product at a very good price. One star less due to the User Manual written in poor English and wrongly stating the use of AAA cells, when actually AA cells are required and in fact supplied. The manual fails on another count, in that it seems for (another model?) a tachometer which has provision for contact measurements too, in fact the carrying case has spaces for various spindles but which are not supplied. The product description does not mention this feature and hence I am OK with that. Have not had the time to see the accuracy of its actual working, only that the display comes on, as does the laser.

Bit tricky to handle
It works with pulse counter principle, ie measuring no of pulses received from the reflecting tape pasted on revolving object over few milliseconds interval. So, the reflecting media, distance from the device, vibration present are important parameters to get accuracy and repeatability. As I noticed, the stray vibrations present at the machine surface or measurements taken resting hand with instrument on a vibrating surface greatly introduce errors and show erratic reading. After some practice and experience, I could do well. A good product for hobbyists to experiment.
