It's a regretful purchase. There might be a limited practical use-case for this, but largely this is an avoidable product. They are promoting a distraction free writing, but that really doesn't resonate with a lot of users, because - A. Most of us don't really write with a pen anymore, we type B. There are many apps on iPad or Android devices that offer such de-cluttered minimalist experience, and don't need a separate device for that C. Pricing is way expensive (almost similar to an iPad or Android tab) for the features it offer (it should ideally be 1/10 of its current pricing to justify) They are trying to force-fit a product in the already clusttered tab devices market without a reasoning or use-case. Give it a miss unless you really want to try something for the sake of innovation that you're anyways not going to use much... .

Useless

I purchased the reMarkable 2 for around ₹57,000. While the initial experience felt promising, the device quickly proved less useful than expected. There are several software limitations, and even basic templates require an additional Connect subscription that costs ₹299 per month — roughly equivalent to a monthly cellular bill in India, which feels unreasonable after already paying such a high price for the device. The available integrations feel incomplete, and they don’t truly support editing or modifying files directly. To make basic changes, one has to download the files, duplicate them, and then re-upload or read them again, which becomes unnecessarily time-consuming. Overall, the device does not justify its price and demands too much ongoing effort and maintenance for what it offers. It falls short of delivering the smooth and functional digital writing experience it promises.

Ridiculous pricing. Better to buy a good tablet with extra features. Its pricing should be below 5000 at most in order to replace normal paper works.

Five stars? Four stars? I think after using the device for a bit what I'm realizing is that it can be a useful tool in my arsenal, but also I can't expect it to solve all my problems. Sometimes in meetings, typing notes on a laptop is frowned upon - I can use a notebook and transcribe later or find another path. The ReMarkable seems to work well as a middle ground. Writing notes by hand, and then converting later seems to work pretty well -- 95% -- whether I'm using ChatGPT or doing conversion via the device itself. I still need to verify the conversion either way but it's much faster than transcribing my notes. The weight of the device is excellent, so much lighter than my iPad Pro. There isn't a backlight, nor is there color, but I haven't found that I need either of those things. Writing is clear and the device is responsive and not laggy at all. The screen refresh is something you get used to and not detrimental to enjoyment of the device -- you slowly grow to understand what actions will result in a refresh, and expect it. Battery life is amazing, of course.

Absolutely love this. From a productivity perspective it’s excellent. The App makes use of even easier as you can find your notes on your computer. Handwriting interpretation works really well well even with my scrawl. Being able to file and find notes has saved hours searching through notes books.
