Product Description The rise of Ritchie Valens from farm laborer to chartbusting rocker. Stars Esai Morales and Lou Diamond Phillips. desertcart.com Lou Diamond Phillips leaves a haunting impression as the late 1950s pop idol Ritchie Valens, who made the Latino influence in rock & roll conspicuous through his hit songs. Filmmaker Luis Valdez (Zoot Suit) creates a nimble, exciting, and sympathetic portrait of the boy driven to rise above obstacles of race and family legacy, and Esai Morales is equally fine as Ritchie's envious, searching brother. Great support from Elizabeth Peña and Danielle von Zerneck as Valens's sister and mother, respectively, and Joe Pantoliano is solid as the singer's straight-talking manager. Valdez brightens up the third act with a rock & roll show featuring, among others, Brian Setzer as Eddie Cochrane. Marshall Crenshaw turns up as Buddy Holly getting on that plane with Valens, and Los Lobos (who actually performs Valens's music on the soundtrack) has a nifty cameo as a Tijuana band that gives Valens a piece of crucial inspiration. --Tom Keogh Review: Great Music and a Moving Story - La Bamba is a great watch with fantastic music and a heartfelt story. The performances are strong, especially Lou Diamond Phillips, and the soundtrack is excellent from start to finish. It’s emotional, inspiring, and still holds up well today. Definitely worth streaming if you enjoy music biopics or classic films. Review: Great Musical Drama - I forgot what a good movie this is. Really enjoyed the music. Great musical drama and biography.

The Night That Music Died.
The movie is great and stays with the truth all the way through. I graduated from High School in 1960 in Kansas and this music was some of many that we all loved in High School for our dances. The part of Richie Valens was very real done by Lou Phillips. I cried and laughed just as if I had gone back in time and was reliving this time. I remember "THE NIGHT THAT MUSIC DIED." It seems like only yesterday watching this movie.

Great movie!!!🍿
La Bamba is such a fun and inspiring movie! The acting is excellent, the music is unforgettable, and it tells the story of Ritchie Valens in a way that’s both entertaining and informative. It feels like part autobiography, part celebration of his life and music. I really enjoyed it from start to finish—great performances, great energy, and a touching story that stays with you. Highly recommend!

-------Premetto che mi riferisco all'edizione tedesca DVD (presente audio italiano).
