Steel Series Arctis Nova 7X
Bought to replace a Turtle Beach headset that my brother had from Xbox One and had given to me.Set up:The Nova 7X headset was easy to set up; simply adjusted the headstrap where I needed it, plugged the dongle into my Series X with the extension cable provided, and turned on the headset. Just make sure that the toggle on the dongle is set to Xbox for Xbox and USB for everything else (PC, PS5, Switch, etc.) The headset sounds pretty good out of the box, however, seem to be what I would call "tingy" without making adjustments on PC. After I connected to PC, I set up the headset using Sonar on the Steel Series software that's free to download from their site, but I don't think that translated to the xbox. What did, however, was the EQ settings because I set it to Bass Boost and it seems to have gotten rid of the "tingy" sound I was experiencing previously.Battery life:The battery life is phenomenal. I would say getting 38 hours or more is absolutely possible. I have had the headset for over a week now and charged it for the first time last night and it only seemed to take a couple hours to get to full charge. I was wearing the headset throughout the week watching youtube, playing games, etc. trying to get it to die. May vary from person to person as I typically work 9-10 hour days and worked 4 days last week while obviously not using the headset.Microphone:It's a mic. My brother says that he can hear me more clearly than when I wore my previous headset, but it is a Steel Series mic, so take that with a grain of salt.Features:The volume and chat mixer rollers (volume on left ear, chat mixer on right) are recessed which is great for sitting back in a recliner or on a couch and not having to worry about volume getting messed with by previously mentioned furniture (which was a problem for me with the Turtle Beach headset that I upgraded from.) Power, Bluetooth, and Mute buttons respond well and do exactly as they are meant to. Mic retracts into the left ear which is great when you want to watch something and not have a mic in your face. The headstrap and ear cushions have been great in my experience. I wear glasses and the headset feels very comfortable despite this. (In contrast, the Turtle Beach headset kind of dug into and rubbed the top of my head during extended gaming sessions. I also felt the part of my glasses just above my ear getting pushed into my ear by same headset.)Customization:I like that the headstrap, ear cushions, and magnetic side plates can be swapped out. Not only for the customization of it, but also the longevity of being able to swap the headstrap and ear cushions in the event of wear and tear.Weight:Comparable with the Turtle Beach headset, but I'd say the Nova 7Xs are a bit lighter. Conclusion:I am really enjoying the Nova 7X headset so far and I would definitely say it's an excellent choice for a headset, especially at $150 USD. Sound quality, battery life, and comfortability seemed to definitely be in mind when they designed this headset. It certainly feels like a lot of thought was put into this headset by Steel Series. Good job, Steel Series. I look forward to buying more of your products in the future, especially if this much thought of the user's experience is put into them. 10/10. Amazing headset. Amazing experience.

Excellent sound quality, easy to set-up on XBOX & PC, fantastic Range
It took me a long time to select headphones for XBOX gaming & on-line webinars with the added bonus of bluetooth connectivity to my cellphone. I did a tremendous amount of research which is really difficult because the majority of manufacturers website descriptions are geared towards teenagers - all glitter and noise with meaningless videos. Maybe I am old fashioned but I want specifications like the range of the 2.4ghz connectivity - simple questions right? Can I go outside for a smoke or get a cold soda from the frig without dropping my connection - the vast majority did not list the range of their connectivity or if their app for sound adjustments carried over from PC to console (in my case the Xbox). Fortunately, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X has excellent range - I found that standing next to heavy duty electrical devices - like my Samsung Refrigerator caused interference but not a total disconnect, 75' from the plug in dongle. Moving the Dongle from the XBOX 1X to the PC (2' from each other) and flipping the XBOX/PC switch was a breeze, syncing the headphones was a no brainer, just turn headphones on they sync immediately, on board headphone controls took a little getting used to especially the bluetooth on/off and the headphones on/off dual switch is poorly labeled with some raised symbols - they should have used some paint to distinguish which position is bluetooth vs headphone power - I have to get a flashlight and glasses to see the markings. Other than that the headphone mute is a locking pushbutton with a audible tone and a red LED on the microphone to let u know if mic is on or off - REMEMBER to SHUT MIC OFF if you are retracting the microphone back into the headset or all kinds of weird feedback will occur - obviously since mic will pickup what's coming from that side of the headset. I found after messing around with the app that out of the box flat setting was great for most purposes. I have a very high end Dolby ATMOS/DTS:X 7.3.4 surround system so even though the headphones sound decent as compared to a pair of studio quality recording headphones - nothing compares with my home theater speakers. I could wear these headphones for several hours before my ears started to get too warm. Microphone quality on group IP based teleconferences and via bluetooth for telephone calls is excellent and being able to connect to both the Xbox or PC via Quantum 2.0 over 2.4Ghz and to any bluetooth device, in my case my Galaxy phone simultaneously is a welcome feature. Answering a phone call automatically mutes the microphone to the 2.4Ghz connection whether it be the Xbox or the PC.Finally the battery life is pretty amazing - @38 hours for the USB connection only or 26 hours if you have both the USB (2.4Ghz) and the Bluetooth on together. The USB C fast-charge connection on the headphones is very fast with 15-minute charge providing 6 hours of USB time if u are dealing with a completely dead battery - which is an almost impossible situation considering the 38 hour capacity. A real world example is using the headset for 5 hours it took about 15-20 minutes to get it back to 100%.You can customize the appearance of the headset with optional matching metal earcup plates and headband in 4 colors Cherry Red, Mint Green, Lilac & Rose Quartz. It comes with all the cables you will need to charge (USB C male to USB A male - 5'), connect USB C Dongle (including a short USB A male to USB C female to connect to Xbox or to a PC if dongle interferes with PC/Laptop USB C port and other connections), and even a 3.5mm to 3.5mm (4 pin to 5 pin) 4' audio cable to connect headset in analog mode to Xbox controller or other analog audio input/output headphone/mic jack. If you need a splitter cable for the analog connection to separate mic/headphone you would need to purchase that separately it is on Steelcase website as is the color upgrade options. It also comes standard with the breathable cloth earpieces which can also be replaced with the vinyl cups if u wish also optional on Steelcase website. A rather cheap clothlike storage bag comes with headset - it will at least keep dust and pet hair off your headset.I rate this headset 9.5 of 10 considering reduced Amazon price, excellent sound, range, positive connectivity (no disconnects for me at all), battery life, dual simultaneous connectivity 2.4Ghz & Bluetooth, best microphone quality and best software-controlled sound and microphone control - this after trying and returning other major brands in this price range, and comfort/fit, finish. The only minor complaints are the cheap storage bag and the somewhat difficult combination bluetooth power and overall power on/off buttons being one rocker switch and hard to read labeling for that switch - visually the Bluetooth LED indicator is Blue and the overall power button for the 2 way dongle LED is green - so u know u made a mistake after the fact if wrong color LED is lit.BTW the room I use this headset is LOADED with wi-fi "smart" devices including 8 ceiling LED lights, 4 wall sconce LED lights, 2 wi-fi controlled window shades, Amazon Firecube w/Alexa, LG 77"C1 OLED TV. Xfinity 4K cable box, Xbox1X, all Alexa controlled via 2.4Ghz wireless & hardwired. The key to having all of this in one room is to hardwire as much as possible (main wireless router is in basement, hardwired remote 8 port switch behind A/V racks) - so all of the A/V equipment is hardwired - the lights and shades are 2.4Ghz wi-fi, nothing seems to interfere with the Steelcase 2.4GHz Quantum 2.0 Gaming Wireless connection dongle which is 15' from where I typically sit with headphones.

Probably the most fun you can have in wireless audio!
Been a gamer for 20 years, listened to all kinds of different audio devices across multiple platforms and for the price, the versatility and comfort you can enjoy from multiple hours of gaming with these headphones is unmatched. The 50mm drivers will knock your eardrums off. You will hear the footsteps you wanted from every angle. And that’s just out of the box with no actual tuning. Wait til you get them updated and throw down a couple presets for Call of Duty, Battlefield or other FPS favorites. When you’re done playing Search, flip them over to BT mode on your phone and get the same acoustic bass quality if not better than your Bose QC2 quiet comfort headphones at half the price. At first I wasn’t sure about these, never owned a pair but after about 6 months of pretty heavy use I am very happy with my purchase. Battery lasts forever and they’re super quick to charge. Mic range is pretty dang excellent and if you have a radio DJ kinda voice, multiplayer lobbies are going to drool for you to talk more. So I’d say, hop on this if you’re looking for a great headset at an affordable price point with all the necessary features plus some. Controls on the earpieces are super intuitive and the most important thing, comfort. Again you can wear this thing and it doesn’t get too hot on the ears for hours and game comfortably. Super adjustable. Best headset purchase I’ve made in years.

Catch them on sale
These are nice, and the various sound profiles could be great. Unfortunately I don’t know if it’s windows or the steel series software, but I have to go into audio settings almost every time to get these to be the default audio output. Also there is zero ANC for these. Good enough for gaming or Teams meetings, but honestly not a huge step up from my old cheap brand headphones. Watch for a sale or open box.

Sidetone = Yes!
Just an initial review having gotten these a few days ago. My Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Max died after a few months, and I wanted to try something else. They were heavy with too much clamp, full of connection issues. I was trying to find a backup that had good sidetone. It's hard to find any documentation on what headsets have any sidetone, so I wanted to add to this for anybody else looking for it. The Arctis Nova 7x does have a fairly good sidetone, but it requires a few tweaks to use it well. This walkthrough is mainly for Xbox, I haven't refined the sidetone for PC play. Could be the same, I'm guessing. You'd just be using your system volume mixer.First, when you get these, install Steelseries GG software from their site. Go into the Engine tab and click on your headset. No need to plug them in wired, just use the USB setting on the dongle. Turn the sidetone to max. You might notice it's still not super strong. But a good way to boost it is when you get back to your Xbox, turn your main volume dial up fairly loud. You'll notice the sidetone increases too. At higher volumes you can whisper to yourself, and it sounds great with no lag. But now your game is probably going to be too loud. Turn your game/chat mixer on the other ear, almost down to no game sound, the lowest setting you can find. I found this to be a good balance. The chat mix wheel I find is pretty sensitive, because of its 0-100-0 functionality. So if you bump it, your game can easily get too loud. I have found though that once you get a friend on the other line in a party, the sidetone does get a little more muffled than if you're playing alone, but still better than none at all. I think the sidetone could still use a boost on the headset settings side.Overall I'm super happy with these so far. No connection issues whatsoever. You will need a dongle adapter for the USB-C dongle on your Xbox. They're super light, and VERY comfortable, 10x more comfortable than Turtle Beach's. The dials are a little loose and plastic feeling, but not bad. I do wish the mic could extend about another half-inch, I think this would make the sidetone even more effective.

Stopped Working After Two Years – Disappointing Durability for a $200 Headset
I bought the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X in 2022 and absolutely loved it at first — great sound, comfort, and the convenience of Bluetooth and wireless for both Xbox and PC. For nearly two years it worked flawlessly. Then one night, the mic mute light turned red, the headset shut off, and it’s been completely dead ever since — it won’t turn on, charge, or even be recognized by my computer.I tried every troubleshooting step imaginable (different cords, power sources, resets, even the hidden reset pinhole). Nothing. I contacted SteelSeries support, who confirmed it’s out of warranty (their U.S. warranty is only one year) and could only offer a 15% off coupon for a replacement. For a $200 premium headset, that kind of failure after such a short time is unacceptable. It’s disappointing because I took great care of it and expected a product in this price range to last much longer. The sound and features were excellent, but the reliability and short warranty really undermine the value. If you’re considering this headset, just know that when it dies — and based on others’ experiences, it might — you’re on your own after a year. I’ll likely be exploring other brands going forward.

Exceptional - not only for gaming; movies, music, media of any type + Great Mic!
I’m 55, typically use Sennheisers, HiFiMan Anandas, Sony MDR-M1s in studio, and PX8 or my PX8s2s or AirPod Max’s for my Apple gear.Favorites are the first two (Senn HDB 630s or Open back HD 650s) and HiFiMan Anandas. If I’m listening with pre-amp/DAC etc at home non-wireless.But wireless - my Max’s hit a home runThat said, I was VERY surprised as to the Nova 7x’s sound quality. From games to movies, music to their microphones - both listening and vocals (talking to others with quality cans) are great! You’re not going to get a pair of $3000 open back cans with a $2500 HP amp sound, but you’re 90% there!

Bricked 26 days after return window.
Edit: Unable to find an alternative wireless headset for my needs, namely Xbox and PC capable, at a reasonable price. I tried this headset again.Again the device bricked, this time within a day or so, however I now know why it is bricking. Unlike some of steelseries other headsets this headset cannot handle being too far away from the plugged in dongle. Leaving the room with my wireless headset on my head I can walk maybe 10 feet before the sound cracks and the headset if not immediately brought closer will brick.Fortunately, this time my headset does actually have the reset button it is supposed to have and it works to reset the device. However this is an expensive WIRELESS headset, to have such an issue is embarrassing. If you are unsure of what bricking is here is the gist, the hardware is powered on (in this case) but loses all functionality INCLUDING the power button meaning it is stuck on and cannot use the headset or reboot. As described in the subject, this product bricked 26 days after Amazon's (turns out false) return window. (I'll get to why it's false at the he end for those interested)Second problem with this headset, the fix is a reset button in a pinhole under the ear cover. The pinhole should be in EITHER the left or right speaker, in my case there was a pinhole in both. NEITHER pinhole had a reset button inside, believe I tried to find the clickable button it does not exist. Therefore it is impossible to reset the bricked device.Lastly, I gave Steelseries customer service a descriptive message about my problem, the response I got was to and I quote "Try factory resetting your Xbox Series X console". The device wasn't even connected to the console. That suggestion was so far away from helpful I decided not even to bother with this terrible service because it would take hours just to make them understand what the actual problem was.About Amazon's shady return window. Fortunately, I bought Asurion insurance for the device because in 'My Orders' Amazon showed the device was no longer eligible for return, expired after 1 month I think. So I contacted Asurion the insurance Amazon uses. They refuse to honor policy because as it turned out after an hour long phone call, AMAZON has a secret return policy window for certain products like electronics one that apparently you would only know if you called and got a real person to file the return. Amazon MUST cover the product for X amount of time before Asurion will pay for it, so the return window you see in orders is actually a lie, (and in my opinion) designed to make people take a loss on their broken product.

Best choice for the multi-platform Gamer!
Best headphones I've ever experienced. Battery life is amazing! The sound is truly incredible and these work on both PS5 and Xbox Series X systems! The only downside is that you need to unplug the oddly shaped dongle and plug it into your other system and flip the input switch. Also the chat mix on PS5 doesn't work - but that's a small price to pay for only having to use one headphone for multi systems. Very comfortable too!Another feature that I didn't expect to be such a game changer is allowing you to connect to a bluetooth device WHILE also being connected to your game system. Meaning that you can listen to Podcasts, Music or even take phone calls if you are connected to your phone! Never again will I ever miss an important text message notification while gaming.I love these headphones and I'm sure you will too!

Great for PC, Xbox and all consoles.
Bought this for my PC and they compliment my Xbox too whenever I use it.Love the wireless features and long battery life.But... they turned off (but actually, remove) the one thing that made their SteelSeries GG app really good. The cloud sync function.tl;dr headphones good. software bad cos of the removal of cloud sync.

Comodidad y sonido
