My 4 year old son lately has been waking up in the middle of the night and coming to our room or to use the bathroom. But walking through the house when it’s dark is really scary for him. So I got him this nightlight that he can keep on his nightstand to provide a little bit of light while he sleeps as well as use as a light while walking through the house. No assembly is required and it just needs to be plugged in to charge. I love that it’s portable and holds a charge for a very long time. It’s a soft warm yellowish light so it’s not too disruptive while he sleeps and isn’t too bright. I can also adjust the brightness by pressing on the top. There’s also a color changing feature that cycles through various colors or I can select a color by pressing down on the top again. While a cool feature, we don’t use this option very much. This also doesn’t have a timer or automatically shut off so it will stay on all night if not manually turned off so after two or three nights it has to be recharged again. We will sometimes leave it plugged in, but if my son doesn’t remember that it’s plugged in and he gets up he’ll sometimes pull on the egg with the cord which will disconnect from the outlet. This is a great solution for little ones but a timer would be a great improvement.

These little egg nightlights are super trendy right now, and I totally get the hype. This one is on the higher end price-wise compared to similar egg-shaped lights, but it has some thoughtful features that make it stand out. I’ve used a couple other touch nightlights before—not egg-shaped—but they were either finicky or overly complicated. This one feels much more intuitive.The tap controls are easy to remember. Some lights have too many modes and functions that get confusing, but this one just makes sense. I like that the tap function is mainly on the top of the egg, so you’re not accidentally changing settings just by picking it up. The physical switch and charging port are placed smartly on the side at the bottom—not underneath—so they’re easy to access. The switch allows you to toggle between white and colored light, and the white setting gets noticeably brighter.A few things to note: because of the full egg shape with only a small flat spot on the bottom, it can wobble slightly if you set it down quickly on a flat surface. The is no timer function like some others, so you will need to manually turn this off. And like many silicone lights, it tends to attract dust or pet hair. But these are more design traits than drawbacks and didn’t bother me much in everyday use.One of my favorite features is how it remembers your last brightness and color setting. Also, when adjusting brightness, if you go too high, the next tap-and-hold will dim it back down instead of having to cycle through max brightness again—a big win during middle-of-the-night wakeups.Overall, this is a stylish and user-friendly nightlight that’s perfect for bedside use, especially during baby feedings and changes. It feels well thought out and adds a nice touch to the room.

UPD: despite it’s being a nice quality (rubberized lamp part and soft touch) the dimmer and tap function stopped working properly after couple of months of usage.
