Mom Brand Natural Mallow Oats, 12 Ounce

Don't waste your time getting this on Amazon unless you absolutely have too. The two boxes I ordered from Amazon @ $7.80 per box (Not from a third party) not only came stale (both boxes expiring in Nov. 2014), but as I was out shopping the other day at a local independent market, I found the family size 16 ounce box for $2.99 with an expiration date of April 2015. Because of Amazon's "No return" policy for food I was stuck with two nearly expired boxes of stale, overpriced cereal. What makes me angry is that Amazon would sell something so close to expiration and at nearly 3X the actual retail cost for the smaller size box. The cereal is great when fresh and if I was reviewing that alone I would give it 5 stars. I don't like reviewing something other than the actual item, but in this case, I think it is important that people stand up to Amazon and let them know they need to stop selling nearly expired, non-fresh products at a ridiculous price! Look elsewhere, you can get much more for WAY less.UPDATE 12/1/2014 - It's nice to see that Amazon finally jumped on the bandwagon with a competitive price. For the box size though, it's still over priced in my opinion but at least it isn't nearly $8 bucks a box any more. I see though that now it's an "Add-On" item instead of a "Prime Shipping" item, I am guessing this change was a big factor in getting the price down to where you don't feel like you are being ripped-off at nearly $8 a box. Kind of makes you wonder what else you have been paying for that was overpriced just to get the "Prime Shipping" if you're a Prime Member that could have otherwise been at a more competitive price to begin with...hum...it does make me wonder...

This is the best cereal I have ever had in my life. It tastes like cereal USED to in the early 90s but even Better! I think its insanely overpriced on here though, find a local store with it. arrived perfectly

In response to bix1126's review, the brand itself is good. Don't generalize a type of cereal when you have had one bad apple and one bad experience from a company that sells it. This cereal rocks. I get the 14 box pack on Prime. Totally worth while and very tasty - unlike its unnatural competitor, lucky charms. This stuff rocks!
