I usually buy a rotisserie chicken from the grocery every week to save time on meal prep. The whole chicken lasts me a week and I love having cheap and plentiful protein on hand. However, I've become a little suspicious about the plastic bags the cooked grocery chickens come in, especially if they've been sitting under a heat lamp for hours.I decided to try to make a rotisserie chicken at home. The size and quality of the chicken is excellent, and the price point is great. The best part of it all is that it only took an hour to roast, and it's just as good (if not better) as the rotisserie chickens at the groceries.I looked up a simple recipe using celery, butter, garlic and onion powder, and salt and pepper. I baked it at 350F for about an hour and 20 minutes, and by the time I was doing other chores around the house it was done. I was very surprised with how moist the chicken is, and how crispy the skin was. On top of it all, there was a good amount of broth and drippings left over that I could use to have extra moist chicken through the week. With how moist the chicken is, I would imagine you can shorten the cooking time by baking it at a little bit higher of a temperature, around 375F.I'm converted!

The selection was excellent. I froze my chicken for usage later. The quality after defrosting was spectacular and exceeded the normal local purchases I have made prior. A fantastic selection.

OK, so the chickens are not pumped full of antibiotics, therefore they are small. But the taste is exceptional. I don't know how often will be able to buy due to the cost, but it will be at the top of my list if they go on sale.

This was a very hearty bird, the breast was larger like a capon, and lasted through the 6 meals it made. A good price at the time also. A superior size for the Amazon site, it was fresh and in very fresh condition.

I thought this young chicken was going to be much smaller but when I took it out the bag it fed my entire family of 6. There was even a little lifted over not to feed the entire family the next day but enough for about two people to make a sandwich or a place from the night before. If you can cook and season your food with the right seasonings any meat will taste delicious.
