Yeah there are cheaper cloned versions for 1/2 the price, but this powers my expensive Yaseu handheld perfectly. No hum or noise and easily produces full power without a hiccup.

Model SDD-13 (the newest model, replacing the E-DC-5B), made by Yaesu, nice unit, has ferrite core to kill engine whine (if you have a poor ground system) and RF pickup from the six foot long power line, 4mm barrel plug, is a straight-through DC power plug, is fused, has a red LED power indicator, even has a 4-digit serial number (apparently mine is a little more than 3,600 units into the model run). Comes in a half-clam shell, half cardboard package. I purchased this for one of my 7 HT's (Yaesu VX-8DR) in collecting accessories. If you purchase the straight wire connector, you will still need to incorporate a current limiting board as you are charging a Li-Ion battery. The radio itself (at least the VX-8DR) deals with the voltage adjustment it needs from the VDC output (my radio showed 11 VDC in charging). It MUST get between 11 and 16 VDC at the socket (never more, never less), with a minimum of 2.1 amps available. The unit will limit the output to 2 amps, and pass whatever DC voltage was input (which should be between 12 and 13.8 VDC). It is actually meant to be used with the CD-41 rapid charger in a 12 VDC vehicle, but can be simply plugged into the radio directly. H-I-G-H-L-Y OVER-PRICED! But... if your accessories must match (all OEM), you have no choice. This unit should really sell for about $13, half of what is charged, ergo, I gave it 4 stars and not 5.
