This is the first mattress i have ever purchased and i have to say that I'm happy with what i got it arrived in a box about 4 feet tall and was vacuum sealed and rolled up, once you get it out of the packaging let it air out for at least 12 hours mine smelt a little strange but it went away very quickly. I weigh 145 lbs and I'm 5'10 i normally sleep on my side or stomach and i find this mattress to be medium firm which is good for me since I have back problems and need comfort but don't want to sacrifice support while on a budget. This mattress does not need a box spring and i don't use one with it but it says you can if you prefer to use one. I got the queen size and its a nice step up from a full mattress i have a partner i sleep with when they come over and he finds it very comfortable as well. I'm just gonna be honest it doesn't creek and make a lot of noise when we have sex like a mattress with bed springs does It's nice since i have a roommate. When i get out of bed i don't wake him up either the mattress doesn't transfer movement that shakes the bed or makes it move a lot. I would recommend this mattress is you are on a budget it feels like a high quality mattress for an affordable price.

Had this mattress for about a year without issue. It was decent to sleep on, nothing super fantastic, but definitely not painful or uncomfortable. Then I spilled some soda on the bed, so I unzipped the mattress cover to throw it in the washing machine. What was supposed to be a convenient benefit of this mattress turned out to be my worst nightmare. There's a fiberglass layer used as a fire retardant just underneath. It's supposed to be kept safe from spilling out in a "fire sock" but over time this can apparently wear out and the fiberglass will break apart inside the mattress cover. These shards are very small and if you don't have a light pointed at them, very easily missed. By the time I realized, I was already going to put the now "clean" mattress cover back on after pulling it out of the dryer. Fiberglass in my washer and dryer, all over my bedframe, the walls, the floors, my clothes, curtains, pictures, carpet, everything you can imagine, I found fiberglass there. It's in the air and been circulating around my house. I've gone through hell for a week trying to clean it up, breathing this stuff in, had to buy special equipment and I'm still struggling to get it all. NOWHERE is fiberglass mentioned in the description on Amazon for this mattress, and the manufacturer doesn't just go out of their way to give up this information when asked. Google search Casper mattress and fiberglass, I'm not the first person this has happened to, and won't be the last. Can it be okay as long as you don't take the cover off? Maybe, but do you really want to risk it? There's probably going to be a class-action lawsuit over this, run away! Get something without toxic materials if you can, I'm switching to a Nolah mattress myself.

I’ve waited a bit to give this mattress a fair review. I bought this mattress back in 2023. 3 years later…. Here‘s the scoop on my Casper Element. When I first got the mattress & unboxed it, it took a few weeks (about 2 if I recall) for it to plump back to its intended shape. I didn’t mind that it took a little while for it to fully expand because it did not affect the comfort (2 corners took a while to fully expand) The one thing that DID take a while was the smell “off-gassing” of the foams. While not terribly to smell it is a poignant odoriferous laboratory sterile smell. The good news is that this too shall pass, with the diligent use of Fabreeze every time the sheets were changed (about 2-3 times per week) OK, now for the review of comfort. This mattress has surpassed my view of comfort. It is the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever laid in. So comfortable, that I am buying a second Casper for our family vacation home. It is quiet, offers the support I was looking for (medium firm) has retained its shape, comfort, and good esthetics from day one. It’s light enough (68# in queen size) that I can flip & turn it with ease by myself. Thank you Casper for making such a wonderful product to rest my bones in.
