Perfect Little Fountain
The fountain description states direct sunlight is required in several different areas of product information. But I've noticed many reviews stating dissatisfaction because it only works in direct sunlight. It works exactly as described and fit my need perfectly. I turn my pool pump off from 10pm to 10am and needed a small ripple to circulate in the early morning. This little fountain creates the small movement I required.I also have a bird bath shaded under my pecan tree and tried it out there. When in shade the fountain produces about a quarter inch height of movement to keep the water circulated. This is actually perfect for not splashing the small amount of water out of the bird bath. This product has no batteries to charge from the solar panel. It only works in sunlight, which is perfect for my application because I don't want to be replacing batteries in this instance.

A powerful little fountain
Overall it does what it advertises and it’s been running great for me so far. It looks nice in the black bowl with pebbles I placed it in and blends in well. The battery life is very good so far and I haven’t had any issues since purchasing it a few weeks ago.The only negative I can think of is that it’s very lightweight and small (which some people might like), so it floats around and isn’t stationary in the large bowl I placed it in. The water can shoot up very high as well may or may not be a plus for some people. Putting in less water helps regulate it.It’s under direct sun all day on my deck (haven’t tested with partial shade) and continuously shoots out water until it gets low, so I would say it works very well for a small solar fountain!

Hard to stay center in the birdbath
It's a nice little fountain and it works well when it's in the sun. As soon as the shade hits, it will stop working. It has little plastic arms to try to keep it center in the birdbath or pond. But if the wind blows it to one side or the other the water goes over the side, drains out of the birdbath and then stops working. I wish there was a way to keep it center. I ended up slipping plastic straws over the arms to make them longer to fit the size of my birdbath so it would center it better. It seemed to work, but again as soon as the wind blows, it blows all the water over the side as the fountain is working, drains the birdbath and then it doesn't work that's why I gave it four stars

Works as described...almost!
This is tough because the fountain works pretty much as it is described and it has lasted over a year of basically non-stop, continual use during spring, summer and fall seasons in Ohio.We are using this in a 27" bird bath that gets full sun exposure for ~8 hours a day, then is partially shaded in the late afternoon and evening. So why only 3-stars? Primarily for understating the flaws...1. The note in the description about the spray height being directly related to the sunlight intensity is an understatement to say the least! The ONLY time you will see tall spray like in the pictures is when there is complete full sun exposure with absolutely ZERO obstruction. Slight haze from a humid summer day?...nope, that's not enough sun. Now, with that said, it does run when there is little to no sun, but it's just a trickle. That's enough to keep the water agitated, but not much else, and that has served it's purpose for us at least.2. The description mentions "a larger birdbath is recommended to prevent splashing out of the birdbath". Again, that's quite an understatement! We have what I would consider a fairly large bird bath at 27 inches in diameter, but on the rare occasions we have enough full sun, anything but the flat spray nozzle will result in most of the water being sprayed out of the bath onto the ground. If even a slight breeze picks up, then most of the water ends up on the ground and in a matter of minutes the bird bath is empty! So I'm not sure what bird bath would be big enough to use the other tall spray nozzles unless it's a small pond. Also, keep in mind that it floats, so it hardly ever stays in the exact center of the bath; so even with a huge bird bath, it would eventually float to the edge and you would end up with the same problem.3. Finally, the thing is a magnet for algae and debris. It's not necessarily hard to clean, but it does require frequent (basically daily) cleaning. Because the entire surface area of the fountain is in constant contact with the water, I think it also makes the water get dirty faster as well.4. I don't think the birds care about the fountain. They use the bird bath, but I have never seen them use the fountain's spray - partly because we use only the flat nozzle just to keep the water agitated and provide a little sound, and nothing more; so there is rarely any spray for them to play in.To sum up... we've been relatively happy with the fountain and the limited functionality that we get out of it, but are looking for other, non-fountain options that will run more consistently and have less surface area contacting the water, but still provide the sound and agitation we want. But if you have no wind and no clouds and a gigantic bird bath and don't mind taking it apart everyday to clean, this fountain will work for you!

Quality choice
I was pleased with the quality and design with outriggers that keep the unit floating in the deeper middle vs lodging on the lip of the birdbath. I also like the variety of spray heads as well, as we live in a breezy foothill and the taller delicate spray pattern was great but lost some water due to breezes. The lower spray solved this.

Great affordable replacement for my old broken pump
I needed this to replace my old pump which was inset into a well in the bird bath rather than floating. It works well so far and the water spray is fine. I didn't want it to float off to the side, so I inserted some plastic "stakes" into the slots on the underside and they keep it from drifting.

Perfect water accent for your deck or garden.
Easy to assemble. My small bird bath was not deep enough to sustain the water level I needed for the fountain. It comes with several fittings to display the water fountain. I had to fill the water up every five minutes. Perfect accent for your deck or garden. Make sure your depth and diameter are right for this. I should've studied it more carefully.

Great value! Awesome solar power fountain!
This is the easiest and cheapest way to make a water feature out of your bird bath! We love it! Easy to install and lots of water spray options. Great purchase. As long as your bird bath is deep enough and you get sun, you will have hours of enjoyment. Highly recommend.
