Robocraze CTE067 CTE048 Digital Multimeter Capacitance Multi Meter with Probes

The DT-9205A multi-meter come in various versions. The version I received is as shown in the 2 photos. On checking & testing this cheap (Rs.474) meter I found it surprisingly quite accurate on almost all measuring parameters & ranges. Also, unlike other meters in the same category which runs on a 9Volt Battery, this meter runs on just 2 X AAA batteries (i.e 3Volts). With just 3 Volts of power, the meter can read resistance values up to 200 Meg Ohms.I was very happy with my purchase but for the poor quality of the casing plastic as well as the dial. The Dial has a Black printed paper (sticker) pasted (though neatly) which, IMO, will not last long and will soon get damaged under regular use. I have never come across a good accurate multi-meter with such poor quality plastic casing and Printed Paper Sticker used for marking the dial.

More than product this review is for flawed policies of Amazon and seller Cloudtail. I bought this product from Cloudtail preferring it over even lower price offered by other seller only for trust and better service. The first one came neatly packed but a bit defective as the central rotatory dial was notcoming to rest at the exact corresponding graduation. It was a minor defect as the measurements were as expected but dial causing inconvenience so I asked for a replacement. It was of Haoyue brand. I hoped to get the exact replacement minus the dial-issue. It had auto power off feature and Hold button too as visible in the pic. Now they did another multimeter of Unity brand which does not have rotatory dial flaw but doesn't measure correctly as seen by the pic. One ohm resistor is being read as of more than 3 ohm, while 2.2 ohm comes as more than 5 and 15 ohm one is measured as greater than 17. I talked to customer care and they told another replacement is not possible so I can ask for a refund. I had got some cash back too so I could not return it as I would be losing cash back in the process. Moreover the new one does not have the auto off and Data Hold feature as the original one. Please be prepared for such issues if you buy it, nobody is going to offer genuine help from customer care. They would stick to policies even it means losing customers. So be ready to get a downgraded product if you seek a better replacement.

Baught it for capasitence testing and it works well

It’s been a nice experience using this product. I bought it for checking whether the earth connections are perfect at my home.It perfectly gives the results.Note:It’s my first time to use a multimeter. Hence when I opened the back side of it with a star screw driver to insert the 9V square battery, I find really greatly disappointed coz the panels are not properly fixed. I thought of replacing it. Then my dad only told it is how the multimeters are designed and he fixed the battery with the panel externally and then pushed it inside & screwed. So if it was your first time, it would be much helpful to you.Trivia:For checking of the Earth connection :Kindly connect the black probe to COM and red probe to the V ohm.Now turn the arrow to V~ (AC) side to 750VConnect the red pin to phase(most probably right side hole of the switch) Connect the black pin to neutral (left side hole) Now you must find the reading somewhere between 220V to 240V.Now keeping the red pin on the same right side hole,change the black pin from the left hole to the top center hole(Earth) Now the reading must be between 220V to 240V. Only then you can sit and relax that the Earth connection is fine. If not, call an electrician to give proper Earth connection. It’s much important for the safety of products as well as to you too.Previously I used to try with Rs 10 tester. I find it’s really a bad idea to use it coz it uses our body as Earth to check the circuit. If the tester is a damaged one,the entire current will pass over to your body which may cause even fatal. Hence please don’t use those kind of deadly equipment’s. It’s my humble request.Kindly ensure safety first.TYPeace ✌️

Good for hobby purpose. Not for professional or very accurate usage. If you are an electronics hobbyist, or using it to fix some home gadgets, its accuracy will be enough for you. Recently bought, hence no idea about its durability. Plastic body feels cheap by finish, but is sturdy, and I am not expecting it to break easily. No internal fuse, so be careful. Asked for unbranded, but was delivered one which had Unity logo printed on it...doesn't matter to me. Rotary switch is okay.. locks okay in position, with small play.. which seems okay. Expect what you are paying for, its not bad.

The item supplied at the first instance was not as per the order placed and it had to be returned. It took another week-10 days to receive the replaced item. This delay in supply can be avoided if quality item is supplied at the first instance itself.
