Only useful for metal framed structures.
Great product. But for those not familiar with various types of stud finders, this particular model (magnetic) is obviously only good for metal framing NOT wood framed structures. Figured it was worth mentioning for those less experienced in the building trades.

So glad I bought it
This was much smaller than I expected and I worried it wouldn't work but it was great! Doesn't take up too much room in my toolbox and is functional. I needed it for one specific job so I didn't want to invest in a more expensive one and this was perfect.

Strong magnet!
This stud finder does the Job! So, I was trying to find studs to hang a TV. This little 3-4" long gadget has a magnet that is strong enough to find a screw in a stud and to let go of it and see it stick to the wall. It is unmistakable as a Klein tool with its black and orange design. The level sight glass was easy to read and use to locate the edges of the stud.It seems tough and ready to get to work. I was able to accurately mark a level line, and then find the edge of the stud and mark a plumb line. Great tool. Perfectly priced.
