Review: I have 4 of these operating pumps 24/7 365 since 2020. They are in a hot environment, so I have a 4" computer style fan laying on top of each controller drawing up to assist with heat management. The internal fan is probably not up to this task once the heat sinks become dirty after a year or two. Heat kills silicon, so it is well worth the extra $10 investment for an external fan. I am using external control of speed and also using another input as a safety fallback to keep the pumps idling at 20hz in the case of a blockage or other water issue. Make sure they are mounted vertically (as shown in the product photo) for proper airflow.

**Q: I have a 2 hp 3 ph  220v   motor.  3400 rpm.  60hz.      would the hy    or the gt series vhd be best in this situation?**
A: I recommend the GT2.2kw model.GT series adopts vector control, which is very suitable for low speed rotating motor.

**Q: When i have it set to 60hz max output, is there any way to make the potentiometer match this? it reaches 60hz in the sweep of the knob very quickly**
A: Yes. This is because the firmware is reading the voltage off the pot and applying the fraction of that control voltage to the *original* 400 Hz max speed internally, since 60 is only 15% of 400, you will reach 60Hz (and max out and stay there) after only 15% of travel from the pot which applies 15% of the control voltage (usually 10 volts) back into the speed input. The answer is to provide 15% of that voltage at your max pot travel. The way to do this is to add (insert) a fixed resistor in series with the end to end resistance of the pot between the positive end of the pot and the positive control voltage supply. You can do the math on the voltage divider, depending on the value of pot you are using, but the value of the pot should be 15% of the total resistance of both the pot and the fixed resistor’s value added together. It works out to 5.666 times the value of your pot. Say your pot was 1K, add a fixed 5.6K in series, so the total resistance is 6.6K and 1K/6.6K is about 0.15 or 15%. The wiper is still pulling voltage off the bottom 1K, so even at the max “speed” position, instead of giving the full 10 volts, it will only give 1.5 volts because of the voltage divider effect of the fixed resistor. Hope that helps. Yes I am an EE and yes I ran into the same issue. The right answer would be for them to fix the firmware to scale the input to the max speed you have it *set to* rather than the max speed it’s *capable of*, but probably not going to happen any time soon.

I should note that there is a minimum amount of current that must flow into the sense wire off the wiper for the VFD to be able to read/register it. It’s normally a very small amount, but if you were already using a really large value pot (like 100K?? or more) you may have to switch to a smaller pot so that the new total allows enough current to flow, maybe?? 20 milliamps (.02 Amps).  It probably won’t be an issue, so roll with what you have unless it’s a problem. If you’re smart enough to realize you should limit the top speed to 60 instead of 400 and understand *why*, then most of this probably makes sense I hope.

**Q: Can this be powered with 110v and run a 1.5hp, 3 phase motor?**
A: I am using 220v 2hp 3 phase. So far so good. It is advertised 220v so I can't answer about 110v.

**Q: The max speed it is jus 11350 should t24000**
A: you need to set VFD Hertz parameters consistent with your motor.the speed range is 0-24000 rpm if your motor is 400 hz,.

Works well on Bridgeport clone. I have it locked to 60hz because I’m using a Varispeed. The motor doesn’t see designed to cool at low speeds so I won’t be using variable frequency until I replace w good Baldor
