Dog Sun Visor, Surf, X-Large

I have a miniature dachshund who must wear visor for eye protection from sun per our pet eye doctor. Ordered size S. Visor works perfectly! Stays on, easily can be adjusted under his chin , light weight doesn't bother my dog. And, if you care how it makes your dog looks, it looks great. However, please be aware of visor length. Dogs rely on their sense of smell, so they smell a lot outside. If your dog has a short nose, visor wearing can be a problematic because your dog will bump into everything.Dachshunds and other breeds with a longer faces would have no problem with visors because they have longer noses.

Excellent hat, very well made. Chin strap is velcro and easy to adjust. It is too big for my 9 lb. xs dog, but still a quality product.

This visor is well made and really cute but I had trouble getting it to stay on my dog. The size fit him but it kept sliding off his ears and hung around his neck. I have tried to adjust it thinking I messed up. Velcro works great and stays fastened around the neck but needs a little more room for the top of his head and ears.

This is a cute visor, but NOT sun protective since the extremely flimsy strap will cause the slightest shake to have the visor slide off a dog's head. The velcro strap is thinner than a shoelace and not functional as a strap.The visor is cute for a photo op, but no more. Do not buy if you need it stay on your dog with any movement of its head or normal motion from even a few minutes walks.The $3.99 return fee to the buyer policy leaves open the opportunity for abuse. The hat weighs no more than a few ounces, so the company makes money with every inferior product that is sold and returned. This msy well be no more than a scam.

I rated this 4-stars because my "boy" (all whopping 7-1/2 lbs. of poodle fluff) looked adorable wearing it for a recent "family" photo session, especially when paired with a matching PlayaPup harness and leash. In fact, I bought three of them (one red, one blue and a black...and yes, I splurged on two additional leash/harness ensembles from the same manufacturer) so he would color-coordinate with us as we humans changed our outfits for different portraits. (I know, I know...over the top, but hey it was a special occasion).Back to point: the item(s)--since I purchased several hats--are well constructed, albeit a tad stiff around the visor area which meant my little one couldn't wait to get the things off. (LOL) I did find that somewhat odd given he comes from a long line of show dogs so he's accustomed to having his ears/topknot banded with no muss or fuss on his end over those processes but the same couldn't be said with respect to this. Gradually however, over time, as I've incorporated the hats into our walks he's "adjusting" (it's still a work in progress) to wearing these as well. (Probably because he's distracted by all the other sights/smells and forgets about what's resting on his head for the duration of our outings, combined with the fact that I've gently bent/rolled the visor a bit using a large plastic mayonnaise jar so they're a bit more flexible.) But to be fair, even when I wear a tennis visor I sometimes find them uncomfortably stiff, depending on the manufacturer, and have had to do some "adjusting" to those too or they end up relegated to the back of my closet or donated to charity at the end of the year. If he could, he'd probably be in a "downward-facing dog" position rating this 2 to 3 stars--and that would most likely be generous on his part so as not to offend anyone. (Bark, Bark)As for me, I like the esthetics of it but also the fact that it gives him added protection. He's is a café-au-lait colored pup (with a pinkish/liver skin tone) requiring that I be extra vigilant to ensure he doesn't sunburn when his coat is clipped short during the hot, humid summer months and this visor certainly helps protect his entire head/eyes/muzzle area when we're perusing the neighborhood getting some exercise and bonding/lead training outdoors.I did, however, subtract a star from my evaluation of the product because the sizing wasn't, in my opinion, accurate. I measured according to the chart, fudged a tad, and still had to re-order a size larger once they arrived. In fact I gave the smaller sizes away to a friend who owns a Yorkie because the return shipping was almost as much as the hat itself. So word to the wise: if you have to resort to ordering online, be slightly more generous when measuring to avoid finding yourself, like me, unwilling to spend equal money to the cost of the item itself returning it.

This is a great product unfortunately I bought the wrong size. It was too small. I hate returning things... I ripped out the foam inside the hat and I was able to make it fit. The Velcro strap is excellent.

The product is good--well designed, high-quality fabric, the brim is wide and long enough to offer decent sun protection, and it actually stays on the dog. The measurements on the website or ridiculous. I'm sure I measured correctly having followed carefully the website's direction. I ordered a large and needed a small (which fit perfect). And the website says they run small so order a size up--the opposite is true by a factor or 2.

I have a 20# Coton de Tulear & he wears a small. Since this has velcro around the neck & the way it is designed since they have semi wide ears that lay this gives them ample room. A small gives him a wide enough brim to protect eyes from the sun which was my purpose. He measured 6" from ear to ear on measurement pic.I over thought it @ time of ord. & I Ord. a Medium. Way, way to big. Amazon gave me the address to ship back to PlayaPup in org. Envelope w/copy of ord. Written on it exchange for small. It cost $5.95 to ship 2day & ins. is covered in that so don't but more from USPS. Within a week PlayaPup confirmed in email rec. & when they wld. Ship. I was very happy w/service of Amazon & PP.
