This Thing Is Perfect!
When opening it up I had no rubbery smell unless i actually touched my nose to it. The non-slip layer on bottom works on many different surfaces (all of the ones i tried at least) and the clips to hook up your wrist band and clip are pretty conveniently places so they aren't getting in your way while you're building. The work layer is a solid rubber material that is very smooth and and easy on your case yet durable. Yes there are cheaper options but after working on this pad I am very glad I went with this product. The only con i have is that it came rolled up (very nice packaging though) and took awhile to get it to lay flat but putting weight on the 4 corners for an extended period of time will fix that fairly quickly and easily. All-in-all its a great product and i recommend it to anyone who wants to make sure they aren't damaging their pc components in any way when working!

Great Mat, get it if you want
I got this for myself wanting a anti-static mat. I never had an issue with anti static, even though my house is all carpet, but I just got this because it would be nice to have one. There are cheaper versions out there, but this one is decent. I like the motherboard diagrams on the mod-mat and everything and it looks cool. The snaps on both sides are great and love that there is one of each side to switch back and forth if needed. It is also thick and heavy, which I wasn't expecting, and it seems to be made out of good quality. The only down side I had was that when I first opened it, it smelled like rubber or maybe even fresh tires. So I would recommend this mod-mat if you are looking for an anti-static mat. It is not that bad of a price for the quality and it looks awesome!

It’s a good antistatic mat
Love the size and anti static wrist band that comes with it. It was a little on the expensive side to me, but I don’t have any other mat for reference though. Seems like it’s gonna last a long time. Only think I’d like to see is another color other than black, or a small spot that’s other than black so I can see my screws better.

Must have for PC builds
Absolutely phenomenal board. The anti-static wristband has a cord that can easily stretch as you work around your components. Highly highly recommend for protecting your components, especially given the winter air is dry and components are scarce in the time of COVID. An ounce of prevention to keep from a pound of cure as they say...

Beautiful anti-static building pad for PC builders!
This little beast of a mat has worked wonders during my PC builds. The surface provides not only anti-static but a clean, durable work surface for building, rebuilding and repairing PC’s. I also use the ground ‘straps’ for extra protection of my PC components. I like the ruler on the ModMat as well as the different layouts for the Motherboards printed on the ModMat.

Poor construction
I really wanted to like this, especially for the price. Upon first unrolling, it seemed ok, an ordinary piece of inexpensive rubber would have sufficed just as well. All the graphics are pretty, but I don't know how useful those will ever be to me. But what I found to be totally inexcusable is how the metal grounding clips are attached. On the underside are sharp, aggressive metal points that are pressed to hold the clips in place. Those will scratch any surface the mat is placed on. That wouldn't matter for a basement wooden workbench. But if you are using on furniture with a good top surface, this is going to be a real problem. A piece of duct tape would help but might not last. I will probably have to find another piece of rubber to glue on. Also, as another reviewer stated, the wrist band, cord and clip are flimsy and cheap.

Great quality product.
Very pleased with the whole purchase. It was large enough to assemble my entire pc on and gave me a piece of mind while building. The mat seems to be made of good quality materials. It withstood some punishment from a first time builder and seems to have done its anti static job. The included grounding cable was low profile but gave me plenty of mobility to work 360 around my build. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants that extra protection while building.
