Zoeller 30-0181 PVC Plastic Check Valve, 1-1/2 Inch (2 Pack)

It works as described. I found cheaper units that perform as well after purchase. For the money I returned for another product that works great. I never know its working ever (unless I am standing right next to it..

I had 2 sump pumps that were using different check valves and both were problems in different ways. 1st my main pump had a spring and ball (as best I could tell) that worked properly for a few weeks and then stopped so that water would siphon back into the sump pit when the pump stopped. I removed it and and checked it's operation which seemed OK but after installing again, the same problem surfaced so I thought I'd try the Zoeller and have been 100% happy with the results. My secondary pump had a check similar in operation to the Zoeller but was screwed into the outlet flange on the pump. It did check the back flow but was followed by a loud "water hammer" effect that at times seemed like it could damage the PVC pipework. Installed the 2nd Zoeller about a foot above the sump pit and the problem was instantly solved. Both have been installed several weeks now in the wettest February on record here in Ohio running nearly around the clock without any issues at all. They are easy to install and will be easy to remove to check if any problems arise however I don't anticipate any. Completely happy with these and would buy again without reservation!

This check valve is slightly larger in diameter than the older Zoller check valve it was replacing on a Zoller trash pump. Due to the larger diameter it is not a direct fit as it interfered with the handle/bracket on the pump. Due to the age of the pump and corrosion of the bracket I was able to bend it about a 1/4 inch for clearance to allow this new check valve to be installed. Other than that it fits well and operates without issue. On the second unit I plan on mounting the check valve higher up away from the pump where clearance won't be an issue.

I am constantly surprised at how seemingly random items can be so much better when you buy a quality item. My sump tends to run a lot during an extended storm, which usually happens at night, so I previously could hear the banging when the sump turned off (sump is basically below the master bedroom). I thought it was the sump making the noise, but it was actually the checkvalves.On advice from a friend, who said the previous checkvalves I had were prone to sticking, I replaced them with these. Now, the cycling of my sumps is nearly silent; just a small click. Not sure of their longevity yet, but performance wise, I am EXTREMELY happy; no loud bang every minute during a storm. Fantastic.

Can withstand backup pressure with how my system is. Others check valves don't.

This is a "standard" plastic 1 1/2" check valve. I had previously purchased the Zoeller 2" check valve and was very impressed with it's metal construction. I bought this valve expecting the same construction and quality. This was intended to be an upgrade for the valve on my sump pump. I did not install it, due to it being of similar quality as the plastic valve that has been used for the past 25 years.

Installed the Zoeller check valves when I installed a new sump pump. I replace them every time I replace the pump. It gives me piece of mind and I don't get the voice in the middle of the night telling me the Sump pump isn't working. I will be buying them again..
