The Radius Garden 22911 Root Slayer Drain Spade XL is awesome. I've used it to clear roots from a wooden fence line and make a slot, so I can install a rhizome barrier to keep the neighbor's scrub oak out . On the really large roots I used a sawsall, but on the smaller roots the size of large carrots, it slices right through them. I've used it to find buried irrigation tubing. I've used it dig around fence posts to get a fence section out. It cuts through sod and dirt easier than a regular shovel. So glad I ran across this tool.

this shovel really does a good job chopping thru soil with lots of roots. Not much of a digger, but great for going around bushes and trees. Very satisfied.

This is my 4th product from the Rootslayer line. I love the O-shaped Rootslayer both large & small but needed this long blade & long handle design. While the design looks good & the extra long blade can cut the deeper roots, both the blade and rod are too flimsy & flexible. Even though I was careful, the blade broke in just 2 months. I use it once a week. Anyone know where I can get a warranty replacement? I wish the manufacturer update the thickness & sturdiness of the shovel. They can make thicker rod at the base and taper up near the top with the same amount of fiberglass but stronger. I would pay the extra for the beefed up revision honestly.

Perfect for pulling and softening up ground before digging

Used this in backyard to make a trench. The metal ended breaking. Not very sturdy.

Best shovel for digging in hard rocky soil. It cust roots with ease.

Good as a narrow trench shovel ( ver few this narrow), not so good at slaying roots. Like other reviewers, I have to say the material is too thin. It bends too easily when trying to dig up roots.

Produkt war sehr gut verpackt, und ohne Mängel. Verarbeitung sehr stabil, Einsatz im Garten einfach super. Macht genau dass was er soll, sogar Bambus Rizome können problemlos gekappt werden.

This is a game changer dealing with difficult soils with lots of roots. Bought a popular brand first and it broke less than a week. This one i have been abusing for months now an still fantastic.

Doesn't have any weight behind it, should have been a steel handle for strength and impact power. Hard to chop through roots greater than an inch in diameter. Will try and get the spade head welded onto a scaffold pole or something. Spade head is a good size though, just hard to use with a plastic handle.
