Our son like this. a lot
Son loves this. he enjoys going outside and practicing with it. I gave it 5 stars...but know the soft foam will deteriorate over time if abused.

Great for beginners
This practice bo is a great way to introduce beginners who may be intimidated by the staff. Yes, the price of this is similar to what you'd pay for a real one - but I find that beginners will give this more of a confident try when there's foam all over it. So, in my opinion, totally worth it.No, it's not the same. The feel and weight it totally different. Still, a great way to learn new moves without getting all bonked. hahaI love that I can unscrew this and have a short staff or a couple of kali-like sticks.Has a little flex which is nice, a little wobble which isn't. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it!I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here... all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! :-)

Solid training staff, smart design
This is a great practice bo for anyone working on forms, kata, or general striking drills without needing a full wood staff. The foam padding is dense enough to feel realistic on impact but soft enough to train safely—especially helpful for kids or beginners. The collapsible design is the real win here. It locks up sturdily when extended, no wobble, and folds down fast for transport. Comes with a decent carry bag that fits everything snugly.I’ve used both the 4ft and 6ft versions. The 4ft is perfect for close quarters or younger students. The 6ft feels closer to a traditional bo but without the bulk when packed. If you're doing full-contact sparring, look elsewhere—but for solo training or light partner work, this gets it done.

Freaking sweet bo staff with a ton of versatility and little extras!
The media could not be loaded. Good evening fellow product knowledge seekers! Today I am going to provide a little insight on this awesome collapsible training bow staff. Unless this thing happens to snap, it’s simply a terrific training staff for taekwondo and similar self defense courses. It’s soft and has a bit of flex to it, but ridged enough that it can deliver a blow or take a block. The weak points would likely be where the screws are, though the screws are pretty thick (thicker than that of a pool cue). The fact it collapses is excellent for travel and storage. Everyone else in taekwondo has a full length wooden staff, which is bulky and awkward to traverse with. I think it’s an added bonus that this stick can be shortened into two sections, and it can be used as batons. Therefore, it provides multiple training avenues as it itself is a versatile bow staff. It’s well thought out honestly and is a better value than purchasing just a straight one piece staff. Shout out to the manufacture for including three bolts for a two sectioned staff. You have an extra in the event you lose one, OR, as I have done, I used blue loctite on the two bolts for the middle section (they back out from both sides whenever you break the staff down, which I found annoying), and the third can be used to connect the two ends together to make a shorter staff. There is even an included velcro strap so you can wrap the three pieces together if you wanted to throw them in your training bag without using the included bag they came with. Oh, and the manufacture actually included a product manual! Although I don’t think it’s necessary for this staff, it’s still a nice extra step that addresses customer questions, and provides a point of contact for questions or warranty. Very impressive little things about this product that make you feel like it was well thought out!All in all this is an excellent product that has executed on finer details that you may not consider under normal circumstances. 5 stars for the product’s quality, its user friendliness, the included extras like the third bolt, velcro strap, and product manual, the sheer versatility of this product, and the price. At the time of this review, the suggested asking price is $54.99, which can be about average for full length bo staffs. There are lots of options to choose from, some being cheaper in price, but from a quick glance I don’t see other options that include the same exact style and extras as this one does.Check out the photos I took to get an idea of how it’s packaged, and I tried to make a short video to show some of the details you may not perceive from looking at static photos. This staff would work for solo kata training.
This bo staff will be good for just practicing katas and doing basic staff work with it. The problem I have with this staff is for the same price I could find a hardwood bo staff for training that I could also use during training with a partner. I used to train a little in Aikido back in the 90s, and used a bo staff made of ironwood. This staff will help you get proper body positions, proper stance and hand positions but this isn't a collapsible staff it's got screw together sections. This bo staff would not be something I'd be comfortable using with a partner. The force required for someone in Aikido to redirect and throw the person holding this staff would likely damage it. I think it would be durable using it solo, and is built well enough to train with it alone for kata work. The weight and balance isn't the same as using a real wood bo staff, as it tends to have a little bounce to it. I don't dislike it, because I think it's made well enough. I'm rating this bo staff a three out of five stars. I think this bo staff has its place in training solo. Thank you! -Mike
