Can i change the units? (yards, feet, meters) I want to measure the distances between my hifi speakers, buildings, property

Yes, yards and feet. You would need to convert meters manually or on the web cals available. Works fairly well. Just have to be on the money for your snap/aim in the distance however as pressing the button slightly affects your aim and for small things 100 yards or more away… can slightly skew the distance if it’s not something that stays on target while clicking but buildings are a cake walk. I comp firearm shoot and a 4” gong at 200 yards is so tough to get a precise calc but it usually gives you a very strong understanding still of distance but if you need down to the exact foot everytime, might go more expensive option but works great for simple tasks as long as your also accurate

Will this work with golf?

Yes only yardage does not have degree angles

Better than the Vortex Impact 1000?

All relative to the user however for a 200 dollar range finder I class it as a moderate user.

Does it have a written manual?

Yes mine had a manual lens cloth cleaner a towel and canvas case
