One of the most memorable manga's I've read
Junko has been one of my favourite authors for a very long time. I've read all of her works scanlated, so I was absolutely ecstatic when I found out she would be getting her first English release. I would definitely recommend reading the rest of her works, and if any more were to be released, I would not hesitate to buy them even though I have already read them.Konbini kun is one of those cute little oneshots that stay in your memory forever. The art is fantastic, just as it is in all of this author's other works. Junko does an excellent job conveying emotions, and draws all her characters in such a sweet style that doesn't strip away their individual features. The cover art is gorgeous, and has bright, vibrant colours. Not even June's huge logo on the side should deter readers from such an otherwise gorgeous cover. The story is one of the sweetest ones I've read up to date. While there may be a few mangas out there with a similar story style, Konbini kun stands out from the rest for me. The two main characters are ones that I feel I could easily empathise with, and watching their friendship slowly grow into a romantic relationship is one of my favourite parts of the story. One of the chapters focuses in on another couple, with an equally interesting relationship. This a fantastic read, and stands out amongst thousands of other yaoi mangas with it's fantastic art style and story.

Sweet, wonderful story of first love
I bought this on a whim while I was looking for cute, well developed yaoi series. It delivered.First, the art is wonderful. The characters are deeply expressive and nuanced and the artist fully uses different face shapes and features. As a bonus, it also features one of the best drawn cats I've ever seen in a manga.Secondly, it. Is. Adorable. The story is deeply sweet with solid heartbreaking moments that never drag its audience down too far. The main couple develops slowly and gradually--which seems strange for such a slim volume but I promise is true. There's a short side story near the end that's more traditional and decent as well, but the main storyline shines. 10/10 would recommend in a heartbeat.

Very sweet!
The story is pretty cute and covers some fairly realistic topics regarding sexuality and coming out, which kind of surprised me a bit. Totally wasn't expecting it. You do find out that Endo's sexuality and the repercussions from it is what's behind why he's a shut in. I found how it was set up to be somewhat realistic. Once Endo and Yamai hook up, how their romance progresses seems fairly parallel to how gay culture is in reality [it's not completely accepted by society so they have to be hush hush about it, ie hold hands in the dark or empty ally to avoid possible harassment or being seen]. Both Endo and Yamai do develop over the course of the manga. Despite it being a bit rushed, it's still enjoyable. There is sex, but nothing too hardcore or explicit. There is an additional short manga between a high school student and business man after the story. Relatively short, but a nice short about issues with dating age gap and miscommunication that could occur.Overall I highly suggest picking this up. I give it a solid A.

One of my favorite Yaoi books.
This book is one of the better yaoi books and one of my favorites. The characters are realistic in that they grow and learn from their relationships and experiences. A sweet story line, likable characters and nice art work. My only complaint is that it was too short! I would have loved to read more about the characters or see a continuation of their story. Hoping for a sequel or two! This book has been added to my collection and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes their yaoi with some intelligence, gentle humor and romance.

junkos bestes werk
