OXO Steel Double Lever Waiter's Corkscrew, Silver/Black

It’s a simple tool, nothing extraordinary, but it is well made and I like it. Bottle opener is useful and effective - just a shame there is no foil cutter.

Recommended by experts and has a quality feel. Seems like it will be a durable product and has a nice weighty feel. Does its job with ease and looks cool. Spend a few more pounds and buy this over a cheap one.

Makes opening a wine bottle easy. The two lever feature is the key. Screw into the cork and use the top lever on the bottle top edge to pull out the first part of the cork, then adjust and use the second longer lever to pull out the rest of the cork. Comfortable to hold and use. I used to use the large lever type corkscrew with two arms to hold/squeeze and a ratchet mechanism but they kept breaking. I can't see this one breaking.

If you want a robust, high quality, old school corkscrew, then look no further. This is what you need. Best I’ve ever used

A lot of waiter corkscrews have double-hinged fulcrums, in order to do the initial pull, and then move to the lower fulcrum. This has one long fulcrum with a piece sticking out mid way that is there for the initial pull. What I find is that when you pull out the top half of the cork, and then you move to the end of the fulcrum, that previous lip gets in the way and can rip the side of the cork. That lip can fold in if you push the fulcrum in, but mine is stiff and not as smooth as it should be.

I’ve purchased many other corkscrews over a couple of years and found that one of the pivots bend when removing a difficult cork , this one a much better design so that will not be a problem. I wish I had seen this model earlier and saved myself some money. An excellent buy.

El mejor sacacorchos es uno de dos pasos. Y funciona mejor cuando el primer paso es de alguna manera retráctil. Este tiene un mecanismo que hace que al hacer palanca para sacar el corcho, el primer paso se guarda solo. Había leído comentarios de que se siente “flojo” aunque en realidad las partes más “flojas” son las que conviene que sean así para que la palanca sea mejor. En la experiencia de disfrutar un vino, todo el proceso interviene, y este sacacorchos hace esta parte más “profesional”. Siento que es caro, pero sí es el siguiente nivel de sacacorchos.
