ACDelco Gold 252-721 (88926235) Engine Water Pump

AC Delco water pump was easy to install and only use the paper gasket no silicone. Fit perfectly without any leakage. Bolts line up you just have to turn it until all the bolts line up correctly. Very good quality, looks a bit different than the original but it works. Gasket looks cheap but no leaks yet.

The water pump I received has a stamped sheet metal impeller. The stamped sheet metal impeller is a better design as the fins measure 7/16 inch tall. Therefore, there is less space reducing water blow-by. The cast iron impellers are more prone to having shorter fins allowing more water plow-by. As far as ease of replacement, this design is by far the easiest replacement of any vehicle I have ever owned.

Good quality exact fit, replaced the pump after 12 years while I was repairing a water leak on my timing chain cover.

When my SUV was making a hissing noise under the hood...of course I took it to my local mechanic. After the diagnostics the grand total to fix replacement of the water pump and to replace the serpentine belt was over $500 dollars! Needless to say I went straight to Amazon to see if I could find the part cheaper..yay!! Part found..part ordered...final total was about $230. Lesson: If you find the auto part that fits and its cheaper that this other auto part stores...go for it. So far I've had to replace not only the water pump but the driver side mirror for my 2006 Chevy Equinox and I came out cheaper finding it on Amazon with putting the info about my vehicle and so far I have saved and that is a beautiful thing!

This was the easiest water pump replacement I have ever done. The 3.1 L engine has the water pump mounted up high on the passenger side. Remove the serpentine belt, drain radiator (the original radiator was being replace due to a small leak after 17 yrs!). remove the pulley (4 bolts), remove the pump (5 bolts). The only trick is to make sure the pump goes back exactly as it came off. The 5 bolts are spaced differently so you want to dry fit it first before putting on the supplied gasket with sealer. Mark the pump at the "top" or at one of the bolt holes so it lines up correctly and you aren't pulling it off with sealant or RTV fighting you. My recommendation is a line coating of gasket maker (RTV) on each side of the gasket. Dont glob it on...just enough to lightly coat the gasket. Never had one leak using the RTV along with the gasket. Good fit since its a GM / AC Delco part.

Nice part, brand new, not rebuilt. Has a cast impeller like the original rather than stamped steel as in some low end brands. Gasket was sealed in plastic bag to inside top of the box so it was in perfect shape upon arrival. Fit was perfect as was machining. Half the price of the discount brand at local auto parts store.

Una bomba excelente, el impulsor tiene otra forma pero en otras refaccionarias ese diseño esta catalogado como de uso rudo, si noto que el vehículo trabaja un poco mas frío que antes, lo que me agradó es que este diseño tiene un hueco para poner lubricante y hacer que el balero dure mas tiempo.

This one has a cast iron impeller, like the original. It works flawlessly and quietly. Hopefully, it will last a few years, perhaps as long as my old car!
