I appreciate that it doesn't offer remote access and that it cannot be easily attacked with paperclips and screwdrivers.But if a person can buy a tool online that allows one to jiggle open a lock with no skill, I want to see a better lock.

It's not too loud to the point of annoyance but it would be a cool feature to have.Overall:The Pro's outweighs the Con's and I will definitely recommend this safe to anyone who wants to secure their firearm from burglars, intruders or children and teenagers. Great. Keypad has a proximity sensor so it lights up when your fingers are close, LED light is nice, comes in great package, and best of all, fits a G19 and G43!

Got this Vaultek safe as a gift for my boyfriend. Originally, he had wanted the MX safe (he owns four handguns), but after some deliberation - based largely on the price difference - he (we) decided on the PRO VE. Even though he wasn't sure about it at first, now that it's in and he's had a chance to play around with the space, he couldn't be any happier with it. It fits three of his four handguns - Glock 17, Glock 26/43, and his Sig p238 plus some wiggle room for mags - so he keeps three of them in the safe and then leaves one out to carry, which he would have done with the MX anyway. The MX is definitely something we'll be looking at in the future, but for the time being, the PRO VE is absolutely perfect for his current needs and wants. With its depth, we can still keep passports and extra keys in there too. We got the non-biometric system, and the security on this safe is awesome. He prefers this one to the biometric one because he doesn't have to worry about any technical difficulties, so to speak. The keypad and hard key access are perfect. Vaultek is a great safe company, and I will probably be getting one of the smaller ones for myself as well. If you are looking at the MX but aren't ready to spend the money, the PRO VE is a great alternative.

I bought this to hold 2 pistols in a nightstand drawer with some measure of security. It does that, holding a full-size semi-auto and a CCW size semi auto, each with two clips. I have the security of knowing my grandchildren cannot access them and the ability to quickly access them myself, if required. The build quality is very good and the code key and back-up locks are adequate for my purposes...did not need bluetooth or fingerprint security. Vaultek did a great job and the product was delivered within 48 hours by the seller, in good condition and very adequate packaging.

I purchased the teal colored safe for my wife as a birthday present. On it's arrival, I noticed how sturdy the product is. It is a lot better built than the safe that I already had on my side of the bed. It's very slim profiled, while still offering quite a bit of room on the inside. It's not nearly as bulky as the safe I already had, but offers the same amount of room on the inside. The keys work fine and are individually made for each safe - meaning the keys are not interchangeable with other Vaultek safes. The lid pops open very responsively. The key pad is well lit and easy to use. The interior has an automatic led light. The master combo is really easy to set up. The safe would be a little heavy to pack in a suitcase, but you could also use it in a hotel room or car to lock up wallets, keys, jewelry etc. It comes with a steel cable to secure it to a closet bar, bedpost etc. Obviously with enough determination, someone could pry this open or just steal it. But like my dad always says "at least make it hard for them to steal your stuff." I liked my wife's safe so much that I bought a red one for myself. I really like the new color options that Vaultek is offering right now too. I couldn't pass up the 'his and hers' option.

The safe works and funtions well just like their other safes but this safe was clearly designed to increase profit margins. It is lacking in the sturdyness and features of their (not much more) expensive safes. A single latch in the center is a considerable week point considering how the lid is formed steel. No gussets or ribbing, jus a single bend is all that is keeping this thing from being opened. I would suggest only using it for transport where its features will slow someone down, and it checks all the boxes as far as TSA, states gun laws go.

This is a must have for all handgun owners. I was going back and forth between a biometric and non biometric but decided to get this. Set up was easy, it's functional and EASILY fits my full size G20 and sub compact G48. It can even fit all 3 pistols at once, all with mags in with no impingement or damaging the safe. Considering that the Kel-tec and G48 are both slimmer than the G20. It also sits nicely on my nightstand which I cable locked (cable comes with vaultek) to my bed frame. I am happy with my purchase and highly recommend this.
