I purchased this hat for my son who works as a groundskeeper and is out in the son all day. He needed something with a wide brim and back flap to keep the sun off of him and this one works perfectly. It stays put with the adjustable strap. The material is comfortable and lightweight so he does not get too hot yet strong enough that it has lasted through several washings after daily use. Would recommend to anyone who is trying to keep the sun off of their head.

This is a great hat. Perhaps not the most fashionable, but if you're looking for sun protection this is a good choice. The hat is light weight, has mesh around your head so it breathes well, and if it's really sunny you can use the optional neck protector. The wide brim alone offers good sun protection, but if the sun is beating down, unroll the neck protector and give yourself some more shade. Perfect for the beach, or outside work or play. I hate slathering on sun screen, so this offers protection without that greasy feeling. My head measures 23 inches around, and it's a good fit with the elastic band all the way out. I'd say I'm at the limit of comfort though. I person with a 23.5 or 24 inch head may be okay, but anything larger I think would be too tight. If you have a smaller head, then no worries.

Lightweight, comfortable and love the flap on the back. Kept the sun out of my eyes and off my neck and upper back. I always seem to burn no matter what I do on the back of my neck and upper shoulders. But this hat was great for covering up that area. Easy to roll the flap up and tuck it into the little compartment on the back of the hat and no one knows it's there. Would highly recommend if you want something that is comfortable and cool but covers that areas that other brimmed hats do not. I'm a woman so even though this is a "mans" hat it doesn't look it, very unisex look and extremely functional.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Love this hat for working outside and hiking. Keeps the sun off my face, head and neck! I chose the bright color for safety. I have washed it multiple times and lay it flat to dry. No fading and it keeps its shape. Adjustable strap keeps the hat on my head in windy weather.

My husband was diagnosed with Lymes disease and while he's on the antibiotics for a month, he's supposed to stay out of the sun. But do husbands ever listen?! No, they don't. I understand he's must work but he doesn't need to mow the lawn. He had a ride on tractor. It's not going to be pretty but I could certainly get the job done.All that to say, I needed the hat because my husband world rather risk horrible burns than let me mow the dumb lawn. He was not a happy camper when I told him what I ordered. I thought he'd look so silly.But first of all, he looks so good. The hat is magically. It fits his big giant head. I was even able to use the straps to adjust it to my head size and that blew my mind because our heads are very different in size. It's light and breathable. My husband loves the mesh part, he said it gave him a great breeze feeling. It completely covers his head, face and neck... he's a big guy so that's an accomplishment!
