The 'Chocolate' aspect needs improvement.
This product, manufactured by brand âBeaniesâ, is âInstant Coffee Drink Mixâ in âMint Chocolateâ variant. Its country of origin is the UK. Its list of ingredients is as follows: Soluble Coffee, Artificial Flavouring Substances (Mint Chocolate Flavour). âInstructionsâ pertaining to the productâs usage are as follows: One heaped teaspoon per cup, add freshly boiled water. As a consumer, I am glad that a âclear-cutâ option for preparing âFlavoured Black Coffeeâ has been provided for. Upon unwrapping the product, a noticeable âChocolateâ-based âaromaâ was experienced. However, the prepared beverage did not necessarily emit any âaromaâ. On an alternate basis, I decided to prepare the beverage with freshly boiled water and pre-boiled dairy-based âTonedâ Milk. I did notice significant differences when âexperimentingâ with the âbaseâ of the beverage. The âCoffeeâ dissolved easily, not forming any lump(s) whatsoever. I did not add any sweetener to the beverage, irrespective of the âbaseâ. One may or may not choose to incorporate a sweetener of choice to the beverage. I cannot state if or not sweeteners other than âstandardâ âWhite Sugarâ such as âBrown Sugarâ, âHoneyâ, âSteviaâ, and/or even âJaggeryâ and âArtificial Sweetenersâ shall work well with respect to this product. âBaseâ such as âPlant-Basedâ âNon-Dairyâ âMilk Alternativesâ and/or even âLactose-Free Milkâ may or may not work well either. In my humble opinion, the brand itself can, in an attempt to cater to varying needs of consumers, shed âlightâ on sweeteners and/or âbaseâ (other than âWaterâ) optimal for the product. When dairy-based âTonedâ Milk was the âbaseâ of the beverage (in my own experience): The âMintâ itself could not be distinctly identified as âSpearmintâ, âWintergreenâ, or âPeppermintâ for instance. It was not âCandy Caneâ-like either. It was noticeable in terms of a âcoolingâ sensation experienced whilst and post-consuming the beverage. The âChocolateâ came across as if based off on âChocolateâ-flavoured confectionery products instead of actually being âChocolateâ-based. It initially coated oneâs mouth: as if being waxy or oily. Thankfully, this mouthfeel dissipated as the âCoffeeâ component itself took over. The âChocolateâ, in combination with the âCoffeeâ, did not lead to a âMochaâ-like âCoffeeâ beverage-based experience. This is not a âconâ per se, but must be known of. The âCoffeeâ itself was âmoderateâ in terms of strength, with its characteristic âbitternessâ slightly experienced in terms of aftertaste. As a âwholeâ, the beverage was not âacidicâ. It was soothing and âlightâ on oneâs palate. When freshly boiled water was the âbaseâ of the beverage (in my own experience): The âMintâ itself was even more noticeable as a âflavourâ as well as in terms of a âcoolingâ sensation. It was, still, not distinctly identifiable as âSpearmintâ, âWintergreenâ, or âPeppermintâ for instance. It was not âCandy Caneâ-like either. That said, it acted, rightfully, as one of the âkeyâ components of the beverage. The âChocolateâ was not noticeable at all. It seemed to have âevaporatedâ or disappeared altogether. A âMochaâ-like âCoffeeâ beverage-based experience was not the case here either. The âCoffeeâ itself was even âstrongerâ, with its characteristic âbitternessâ noticeably felt in terms of aftertaste. Depending on personal preference, the product can offer a sense of âversatilityâ. Overall, keeping oneâs expectations at a realistic level, this product can be tried out.
