Great Manga and A new experience.
This is my first manga purchase. I previously only read some manga online, but this is my first time with the physical book. And I have to say, now, I am hooked to this feeling. However you read manga, or any other book for that matter, the feeling of having a solid book to read on your hand is different. In case of manga, one aspect of that is the details. You really sit and appreciate and savor all the art work that has gone into this book. I have spend about 45 mins in each chapter purely because I enjoy savoring each panel and details, the funny part is , I have never done that in a screen. I have not spend 45 mins just reading 1 manga chapter on my browser, I just glance over the images and read the dialogues. But this experience..........is different. Highly recommend, if you have only read manga online and never though physical book. Now I think I might buy the entire volume.

YOUR MANGA IS NOT WRONGLY PRINTED
"Manga is read from right to left(last to front), so all reviews here complaining that they got wrongly printed books are noobs and have clearly no understanding of manga and Anime", the art quality in this manga is just above all of us, we really don't deserve Ishida Sensei, if this is your first manga, you're going to set standards and expectations very high after reading this because trust me all my other mangas look kinda bad infront of this absolute masterpiece of art and story. The best 600 rupees I've ever invested.

AWESOME!!
The volume has quality writing and introduced plenty of interesting characters. Ken is innocent and naive, which is most likely what landed him in the situation he is in. Ken’s best friend Hide is a loudmouth but appears to mean well and is highly perceptive of anything involving Ken. It is exciting to see how things will play out between them as Ken continues his transformation. He has to eventually deal with what he is becoming. I can’t help but wonder how long he can hide his new condition from his best friend. This aspect brings a bit more drama to the story. Ken doesn’t strike me as the strong and fighting type. It’s not that he’s weak; he just seems to lack the skills needed to accurately deduce the situations around him and that is what lands him in trouble. On the contrary, Ken and Hide are caught in a fight with a ghoul and Ken adequately defends himself and protects Hide while he is unconscious. During the fight, Ken had a flashback and recalled his first meeting with Hide and how they became friends. I enjoyed this part because it came at a crucial time and gave the readers a much stronger connection to Hide. The other characters that were introduced also play a key role in Ken’s new environment. Ken is slowly realizing that ghouls were always a lot closer than he once thought. This aspect blurs the line even further and shows just how close humans and ghouls truly are. It is shocking to see that the ghouls blend into society so easily. Ghouls didn’t look or act the way that I had imagined they would.

My Favourite Manga! It's really Awesome!
"I'm not the Protagonist of a book or anything.... I'm just a normal college student who likes to read... But... If I were to write a book with me as the main character... It Would Be... A TRAGEDY" Once you read chapter 001 you'll be hooked, the start has a bit of comedy but don't let it fool you cuz its a dark themed Seinen Manga! (16+ I think). It has beautiful artwork in it! And it is my Favourite Manga Series! A must read for Seinen, Horror, Fantasy - Fans! I would recommend you to read 1 chapter in alternate days (9 chapters in total) if you're gonna buy a Volume per Month!

Compensa o valor
Recomendo.

consider this a must read manga
If you're looking for a layered, gripping story that tears your heart out in the best way, then Tokyo Ghoul is the perfect manga for you. It's the story of Ken Kaneki, a quiet, unassuming college student who loves to read and really only has one friend in the world, Hide (Hideyoshi), since both of his parents are dead and he's not that outgoing of a personality. They live in a world where ghouls - beings who appear human most of the time except when under attack/when they fight (then appendages called kagune appear from various locations in their back and their eyes change color, among other things), and of course they can only eat human flesh to survive - exist alongside humans. This existence is a precarious one since ghouls are hunted down by an organization called the CCG. The over-reaching arc of the story is Kaneki being turned into a half-human, half-ghoul, a very rare creature in this world, and the repercussions of that change. While this plot isn't that unique in and of itself (being an outsider and all that it entails), Sui Ishida does such AMAZING things with it, and the horrors of being a ghoul. Things are never black and white in the Tokyo Ghoul world. You should hate the ghouls for the fact that they feed on living beings, but he brings such humanity to these characters, not only Kaneki but Touka, Hinami and Nishiki, to name just a few. There are 'factions' within the ghoul world, those who want to live in peace and those fighting against the humans/the CCG organization. Again, the lines aren't so clear between who is wrong and who is right. If you think the ghouls deserve to live in peace and the CCG side is wrong for killing them, you are presented with characters that are not so one dimensional, that have their reasons to be effective hunters. Ishida seems unable to present to the reader a character that is not fully formed in one way or another - even if they seem that way at first, give it time. So many characters evolve as the story goes, reveal new facets as chapters come out and, unfortunately, the tragedies and horrors pile up. Then there is the plot itself. If you are someone who loves easter eggs in your movies, then this series is for you. There are so many clues and hints scattered about, you can tell that Ishida has done his research and hinting all along where things are going. Tarot card and book references abound, and that's just some of the symbolism. Yes, the series is dark. Yes, it's a horror series. There are moments of levity here or there, but in the end this is one of the darker series out there, both in content and in the fact that people die (often in very messy, graphic ways), people change and not always for the better, and there are a lot of mature themes in this book. There are also a lot of great characters here as well, both male and female (some of the best female characters I've seen on a series, in fact). This is also one of those series that just seems to get better as it goes along, and even as I dread each chapter that comes out, I have to keep reading. There's also an anime of the series (two seasons, the first is mostly faithful to the first half of the manga, the second doesn't follow the manga at all but was drafted by Ishida), and a follow up manga to Tokyo Ghoul called Tokyo Ghoul:Re that is ongoing.
