Excellent Beach Bait
When fishing the Texas coast (Port Aransas) this is the only non-natural bait I use. This specific fish bites product is like crack to the fish in the surf. If they are there and biting, this stuff will work. As I’m sure most people looking at this know, it has a fabric mesh inside the strips that hold the bait to a hook. This works extremely well, and the bait only “falls off” once the water or fish eventually wear it away, which tends to take a while. The only trick here is getting it off your hook when you are done with a strip. I carry small scissors or a knife to cut the mesh away from the hook because even when the bait is all gone, that mesh holds on for dear life.If you are fishing for whiting, pompano, or other similarly sized fish, I would recommend cutting a piece about a half inch to an inch long (bigger is not necessarily better as the fish will simply eat the parts not directly hooked)For larger fish like redfish, we use slightly larger strips and often pair with a live bait like ghost shrimp. That being said, they will frequently take a hook with only fish bites.I have caught whiting, lady fish, pompano, black drum, red drum, snook, croaker, stingray, shark, and others on this bait.

Awesome!
Love theses! I use these when fishing off the shore off the east coast in Florida, works great when paired with shrimp. Last a long time! Definitely notice a higher catch rate when using!

They work
I've use fish bites when I fish on the coast (salt water). They work. I've used cut and live bait in the past. Bites are easier to move if I want to fish in another location, easier to store. Any extra I put in the refrigerator for next time.

Beats shrimp every time for PortA Pier and Surf Fishing
Fishing in Port A: Shrimp versus FishBitesThe fish were plentiful in late July at the Port Aransas Pier and Beach. Fish immediately attacked both the shrimp and Fishbites on High/Low tackle with J Hooks. No fish were hooked with the shrimp ... the fish were small and were able to pull the bait off the hook.Caught several fish: HardHead Catfish, Croaker and Pinfish with the Fishbites. The Fishbites held up well to numerous attacks. For smaller fish, a small treble hook lands more fish than with J-hooks.Color and scent attracts fish!Bait is durable and imbedded mesh prevents fish from stealing the bait.

A Great Option to Have in the Tackle Box
After a recent week long trip to the coast, I'm "hooked" on Fish Bites. I read the reviews on here and thought I'd give it a shot. It did work amazingly well. I used regular shrimp and the Fish Bites Shrimp a lot during the week. This product performed just as well as the regular shrimp. The pompano and pin fish loved it. I didn't pull in any monsters, but the hits on it were very consistent. My sons also used it quite a bit. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the mesh inside does keep the bait on the hook longer. This was really helpful for my boys who didn't have to rebait their hook every bite or cast. They were able to spend more time with their lines in the water. This was especially helpful for my youngest, whose attention span is not the longest. He sticks with the fishing more when he is casting and reeling, not walking back and forth to get more bait.I still use natural bait a lot, but I certainly keep this in my tackle box as an option. It's also great because it doesn't smell, and you can keep it for a long time.A couple of hints: when the bait has worn away, the mesh is hard to get off of the line. Just tugging/pulling at it- not going to work. Have a small pair of clippers (I used my line cutters) to cut it off helps tremendously. Secondly, don't get it wet! This stuff becomes incredibly slick. Even if your fingers are wet, it's hard to get enough grip to pull it over the hook. I had one pack open laying on the ground and a large wave ran way up the shore washing over my tackle. It filled up one pack that I had not sealed shut. I thought I would be able to salvage it, but it was hopeless. All in all, I am thoroughly pleased with Fish Bites Shrimp.

Not as good as expected
So far, they are far less effective than the Fishbites blood worms.

Works very well
First time using these and found them very helpful in keeping bait on the hook. The mesh center is a little hard to get the hook toGo through. Once on the hook, it stays put! You essentially have to cut it off. I used the fish bites on the hook by itself with a slow reel and caught flounder. Works great!

Expired Product
I’ve used Fish Bite products in the past with great success. However, we ordered this color/scent combo and as you can see these are far from fluorescent yellow. There are hard as a rock and tan. Very disappointing, as the wife and I are going back to our favorite spot to shore fish to celebrate our wedding anniversary doing what we love… surf fishing. 🎣
