Great Item! (Wish the Cartridge Loops Lined Up Evenly Though)
Works as advertised. Raises the comb for a proper cheek weld. Easy installation. Much lighter and cheaper than an adjustable stock. Two small issues: the foam will compress down a little with prolonged heavy cheek pressure, but this would only be an issue with extended prone shooting. The other issue is the way the cartridge loops are arranged: you can see from the picture that they get progressively lower toward the back of the stock. This is actually a problem. They should be even. The reason is this: a stock cartridge holder like this can be used to make fast port-loads if the rifle runs empty. With a little practice the shooter can extract a cartridge from the carrier with their right hand, insert it into the loading port and fire without lowering the rifle or losing a sight picture. It can be done in under 2 seconds. The issue is that the lower position of the rear cartridges makes them more difficult to reach. Obviously it's a small thing, but it's unnecessary. Almost every other stock cartridge carrier in the world is straight across the back, and this one really should be too.

Moves and shifts after install.
Okay so I really want to like this more than just three stars but it does have flaws. First off I am applying this to a stock for a Savage Axis II XP, so does not the biggest stock in the world. While applying to the stock, it goes on so tight that I was worried it would tear. Fortunately it did not. It being so tight I had to apply the largest cheek rest pad as well as a smaller one to get the cheek rise that I wanted. This was very complicated to say the least. Once I got it all applied and established, overtime the foam cheek rest pads compress and it is no longer in the same location or height it was installed. It compresses and tends to slide around after installed. I'm constantly manipulating it and this is just not working for me. I think the stock of a Savage Axis 2 is just to narrow of a comb to put a foam pad on top. Overall the product is a good strong quality material and even absorb shock due to the material it is made from. It just doesn't work for my stock and the rise that I need. I think I'm going back to the drawing board and looking at something more Kydex that does not shift, compress or stretch. I'm just disappointed I spent the 25 bucks and it didn't work for my needs.

The Best. A Hands Down Winner. (Lefty shooter here)
I was dubious at first and ordered three others to try but after getting this one on my Tikka T3x it was clear I was never going to take it off. This comb covered all the bases for me so I ran with it and never looked back.Comfort - the neoprene feels good on my cheekAlignment - after cramming in the spacer, it was the PERFECT height adjustment.Ease of install - Not that easy but it was worth the effort.Performance - after a few long hikes it has never moved from where I originally set it. It’s steadfast.Noise - no Velcro, no ammo click, no swish while hiking/stalking. This comb was silent.Lefty - yea, this thing is perfect for me.It was a pain in the ass to get on (which I count as a good thing) to the rifle. Lining up the spacer perfectly took a little patience. I didnt want to remove my scope so I stretched the narrow end over the butt stock and “peeled” the wider end back over its self, down the shaft of the butt stock toward the trigger guard. That looked well except then it was inside out. Had to fiddle to make it right side in and then it was just a matter of aligning it and adding the spacer for my cheek. End product shoots just how I wanted, BIG THANKS to Beartooth for a solid product.

Great product after difficult install
Once you get the neoprene sleeve on the gun and the correct foam under it the beartooth comb riser is fantastic. It was a great ordeal to get the sleeve over the buttstock of the gun. It would be much easier to go over the muzzle with this, but that would require removing the scope. Also you must tape the foam down to the cheek of the stick before trying to slip the neoprene sock over it. Installation was difficult and I am very apt at doing things like this. I would give it 5 stars because it is a great product, but installation was so difficult I gave it 4. This went on a howa 1500 7 mag.

Good enough. Pain to install.
I can tell you what is my experience with Savage Axis - different stocks will yield different results.Installation is a pain in the rear. The forward opening is very tight when you are pulling it over back end of the stock, once it's in place then that same forward opening it's loose and doesn't grip the stock anymore. Fortunately the rest of the cover still grips good enough to stay in place. Then I went to install the raiser... again painful process. Now once installed it does it's job for the most part but it just feels like it should cost less for what you get, hence the 4 stars.

It's a little difficult to install and adjust.
I don't expect any quality issues as it was able to stretch over my stock without ripping seams or anything like that. On one hand I really like that there's a rubber liner that keeps it from sliding around, on the other hand this makes it almost impossible to make adjustments without completely removing it and starting the installation process over from the beginning. I had a lot of space to make up for so I had to use more than one spacer, after about 6-7 attempts and fighting it for over an hour I finally gave up on getting it to look and feel perfect. Maybe I need to try it on a different rifle or shotgun, if it installs nicer and better I will update my review to reflect that.

Nice tight fit perfect height options - Placed on my Ruger .308 Predator
I was a bit hesitant to buy a neoprene cheek rest because I was afraid it would not be tight enough and roll when making contact with it as I prefer a very tight hold. Glad I looked at the other reviews and took a chance. It is very secure and is a bit tough to get the pad under it it is so snug. I used a couple pieces of duck tape to keep the 1/4 inch pad in place which was the precise height I needed (no more neck cramps). I will buy for my other rifles and am going to put on my children's as well. They need a bit more height on their rifles and with the options its easy to fit each one just right.
