Automatic Motorized Solar Blanket Cover Reel/Roller for Pools up to 20x40'

4 weeks of use and excellent product . Great Customer Service! Installation was simple. I did have one question during the process and it was answered within minutes by the owner with a phone call back to me with in 5 minutes. He was leaving on vacation and still called, which was nice to hear a live voice. He even called back 2 weeks later after his vacation to see if any issues! Having this option added to my pool reel has been an absolute upgrade to my pool. As a senior, I can operate it by myself without worry and has increased our pool use since very easy to remove and cover pool. Works great with our 18 foot wide solar blanket (on Vinglii Pool Reel). Highly recommend this product!

This is a great product. It is easy to install and works well with my 18 x 35 oval shaped pool. When I made my inquiry about this product, Gabor asked if he could see pictures of my pool location and got back to me with detailed information including if I would receive enough sun for the reel system to work and the proper placement of the solar panel. I was very impressed with the fact that he did not just sell me the system, he wanted to make sure that it would work in my location. A couple of tips-definitely trim the pool cover to fit inside the pool so that it does not drag on anything. Second, experiment with unrolling and rolling the cover with either the bubbles out or the bubbles in to see which way it rolls on more evenly. Third, experiment with positioning of the reel and mark the position on the surface once you have it in place. In our case we have to keep the reel on a slight angle instead of straight across to get our cover to roll on evenly. It does take some trial and error but once it is set up it works great. I can operate this by myself and the remote controls are an added bonus.

I am a “Brit” so usually reserved in my feedback but I am absolutely delighted with this product and Solar-Lakes service. We are seniors, live in Northern California and as you can see from a photo, surrounded by trees. The pool is never closed up for the winter. We upgraded from a prior model and it is even better. Features I particularly like: - The rolled up cover fits under the diving board, giving us more flexibility of positioning and it looks tidier. - The new solar panel is rotatable so I can position it optimally. It is also good looking. - The remotes/receiver seem more powerful. No problem with a 35’ range to operate from the other end of the pool. - I was only caught out once over the winter with a weak battery. My fault. I should have turned it off when it obviously wasn’t charging for over a week. - I like the manual override switch. Clearly one of the benefits of this system is the remote control, but it is convenient to have a switch also if you just want to adjust the cover and the remote is in the house. - The motor seems to have lots of power. The cover is 30’x16’, 14 mil and it has no trouble hauling it in. - You can’t beat the price. - Customer service is excellent. Timely, accurate and friendly in answering questions. I feel I have my pool under control now: a great chemical balance system, a good robotic cleaner and now easy cover and reel handling. This pool boy is happy.

Beware of this seller as if you have any issues with the product you have to pay to send it to him and pay for any repairs. You will be without it for a few weeks and won't be able to use your roller. He is only interested in charging more when it fails. When I questioned him, he got angry and said had plenty of customers and did not need my business. I paid over $1700 to be able to use the electric motor for about 10 times total over the year that I have had it. I need to change my initial rating, as Gabor only stood behind the product as long as I gave him a 5 star rating initially. I had an issue with the solar panel after a month or so and I had to send it back to him to repair. He stated it must have fallen in the pool and I let him know it didn't, but we had very heavy rains. He said rain would not do that and he would only replace it if I gave him the 5 star rating. I asked him if I needed a new motor as well and he stared that the motor doesn't get affected by water like the solar panel does, so it should be fine. I got it back a couple of weeks after I sent it to him. I stored the panel in the house and the motor in the garage over the winter, so neither was in the elements. I used it a few times this spring and then it just stopped working. I had to pay once again to send the solar panel back to him, he didn't find anything wrong with it and charged me $55 before he would ship it back to me. I asked about a warranty and he said there was not one so I had no choice but to pay him. I got it back and it worked twice before it stopped again. I contacted Gabor and he wanted me to send the panel and motor back, which I had to pay for. Now, after him telling me the motor doesn't get affected by water like the panel did, he tells me it must have fallen in the pool now. He stated that he fixed the motor for now for $55 but it would probably stop working again. He gave me an option to replace the motor for about $375. I advised that I was 100% sure it did not fall in the pool since he fixed the panel and once again we had very heavy rains and I was not pleased with the product. He didn't like that i questioned him and then advised me that he could survive without my business and was sending back my defective motor and panel.

It does make it so much easier to put the cover on/take off, however it turns on by itself. Daily it will roll up or unroll when we are not using it - it has happened in the middle of the night, when we are not at home, when we are in the pool. It is a great idea, wish it worked better.

Great product. I purchased this product last year and its still operating as expected. Installation was simple. I did have one question during the process and it was answered within minutes. Great customer service. Having this option added to my pool reel has been an absolute life saver. My elderly mother can operate it herself without worry. Highly recommend this product.

Update: This is an update to our original comments to reflect the fantastic customer service we have received. Based on our original comments, the vendor swapped out our motor for a more powerful one and it has addressed the issue where we had to manually roll up the reel the last 5-6 feet. Recently, we also had another problem where the reel was no longer responding to the manual or remote controls. We shared this with the vendor and he quickly responded with a reset procedure that solved our problem. Our customer service experience has been fantastic and we highly recommend this product and this vendor to anyone in the market for a powered pool reel. Original Comments: We’ve been using a solar blanket for the past year and we love all the functional and financial benefits it confers. That said, manually rolling it up and rolling it back out each time we used the pool became an annoyance over time. When we found this product, we were excited by the automated solution to our situation. Since we have received the product, it has performed exactly as we expected with one key footnote. We have a 20’ X 40’ pool and this device was not designed for such a long application, so we have to manually roll up the last 5-6 feet, because the motor isn’t sufficiently powerful. However, we knew that going in, so we don’t fault the product at all. All in all, it’s been a great investment and we’re glad we found this automated reel.

Works well, however - Instructions are sparse - Hole pattern in aluminum hub doesn’t match holes in recommended pool reel tube - Unit comes with two remotes, buttons on one remote are reversed relative to the other remote, buttons are marked A & B (not open / close) - Video shows a piece of PVC pipe and a rope being used to pull the cover over the pool when deploying - neither are supplied with the unit. Unit works well, at this point we would buy again. The reversed remotes had us questioning our sanity until we figured it out & marked each unit appropriately. Would pick up a remote at random, never knew which button did what.

I could definitely rate this a 10 Stars if it was available. very sturdy built.Excellent system, works like a charm no back aches anymore and does the work in 1 minute. Too bad we didn't buy this sooner. Super Customer service and very well made video on site showing the full installation. Once you do get the hang of it, the rolling up and out of the pool blanket goes so smooth and effortless! The best buy of the season. And to top it up, the seller Gabor is extremely helpful and generous. He goes out of his way to help you set it up and have it running. He takes the time to answer all your question and set you at ease. Thank you Gabor!
