Super good for the price!
In very good quality for a used book. Personally I like the vibe of an older used book but it is good quality for the price, there’s some creasing ln the spine but it’s not like I wasn’t expecting that when buying a used book. The pages are in great condition and its most important that I can actually read which I easily can! It’s great :)

A Relationship Classic that Still Sparks (with Caveats)
John Gray’s 1992 mega-hit remains a timeless primer on gendered communication in relationships. Its metaphors — men as rubber bands, women as waves — are unforgettable, and its insights into emotional needs still resonate with many. That said, it’s limited by its binary lens and doesn’t reflect the emotional complexity of modern relationships. Still, as a starting point for learning how to speak your partner’s “language,” this book has earned its place in relationship libraries around the world.Read it with curiosity, not dogma — and pair it with modern attachment or trauma-informed resources for a more complete picture.

Invaluable advice on love and relationships for women
This offered profound insights into the male psyche, but I woukd recommend reading both it and the dating self-help book Finding A Guy Like Gilbert which is a sensational read with spot on advice for the modern romantic! Best value Amazon deal ever!

A standard to read, so a must, but outdated now
I liked the style of writing, and found it very interesting and enlightening in many way. However, the explanations of how men reacted in different situations, versus how women reacted were out of touch. I could easily relate both male and female traits to myself, and also to almost everyone I know, whether male or female. As a standard, it's really a must to read, and quite enjoyable, but take the suggestions with a very large pinch of salt, unless you want to insult your partner or your friends.

Wish I'd known this a long time ago!
Ok, so, for years I've struggled with understanding why my wife goes on and on about her problems when I see a logical solution. For me the solution is an easy win and I'd have solved it pretty quick. Thanks to this book I now have insight to a woman's way of thinking, when working problems out. Only on page 42 and already I'm using the techniques I never knew about! Not to get my own way but just to make her feel better. So much I didn't understand before. It's an extremely good book, keeping it focused but also with light humour. Anyone can easily learn, if you want to really have a happy relationship read this! I wish I had as I now live separate :( don't make the same mistakes as me. Buy the book!

Anyone who has ever said "I don't understand the opposite sex" needs to read this!
I really do think that this book is incredible. It essentially explains the thought process and rationale of both men and women alongside each other, and enables you to compare and contrast in a uniquely charming way using story-telling and different scenarios, some being "out of this world"! I would really recommend it as a book to read with a partner or alone, as it can improve relationships not only at home, but with work colleagues and acquaintances as well. There are several chapters in the book about different "areas" of trouble, and through it offers advice as to the difference in how men and women express themselves and the differences in the meaning of their words. After reading this book, I found that there is a lot that goes on in the way we communicate than I had ever realised! Difficulties in my communication with others became much more understandable having read this book. It goes with the basic gist that men are looking to offer solutions to problems that women bring up in conversation, whereas women are looking for empathy and understanding. A lot of communication issues, I believe, can be solved by remembering this basic trend! Some may argue that it could be a bit of old-fashioned stereotyping nowadays, especially as it was originally published over two decades ago! I still believe that it is very much worth a read and there are still a lot of similarities between how this book describes many common situations and how society works today. For anyone who has ever claimed that either men/women are difficult to understand, this book is definitely worth a read!
