ETC Trekking Full Length Mudguard Set - Silver (700 x 38-45 mm)

Took ages to arrive, but pleasantly surpised to find the mudguards came with a fittings kit including all the nuts and bolts one needs - plus instructions for fitting. Took about 30 mins to fit. I have a pannier rack which fitted over the mudguards just fine however a spare rack I have didnt fit. Overall, really happy with these mudguards!

I'm not a big fan of full mudguards (they add significant drag) but the weather recently has been bad enough to justify buying some. They come with a pair of single stays for the front & double for the rear. The additional hardware is stainless steel, with a snap-on plastic bridge for the rear guard & soft plastic stay caps. The stay screws are supplied in different lengths, all too long for most frames.These metallic grey guards are wider than most tyres & should fit most bikes. I didn’t fit the rear guard's snap-on bridge because my frame's mounting is vertical rather than the more common horizontal (it has disc brakes). If it rattles too much, I may drill hole in the rear guard with a spacer to secure it more than it is now.

I bought these for my son's bike (Specialized Sirrus) which has disc brakes. The guards were easy enough to fit, using the supplied fixings, which attached to the existing mounting points on the frame.The front guard attachment needed to bend around the front caliper but this didn't cause any particular issues with alignment and apart from one minor adjustment the first time he used his bike they have been fine ever since.

It's made of plastic.One thing that bolts have this hex hole, and wrench wasn't packaged in my case, so be aware that you'll have to find a small hex key to be able to install this, also two small wrenches of different sizes, I don't know why wouldn't they make everything of the same size...Easy to install, but I had to cut some bolts that come in the package, otherwise they were too damn long.Overally seems OK, let's see whether it lasts.

as long as you can are competent at basic cycle maintainence, the actual fitting is not difficult - more problems sawing/cutting the old ones off!!

Good quality materials, lightweight and looking good.

These mudguards are far better than the picture gives them credit. They look so much better when you get them. Suggest another go at taking a better picture. They do not look cheap at all, silver and classic!

Having trawled several cycle shops and various web sites to see what was on offer I was dubious about ordering the ETC mudguard set as I have always been an advocate of ' You get what you pay for'.
