The rose gold band is really pretty on this watch; it’s a gorgeous color. However, the markings on the face are very minimal and the hands are so narrow that it makes it hard to tell the time at a glance.The watch band should fit a large wrist. I have an average or slightly smaller-than-average wrist and it will need to be taken in.

This watch has a mother of pearl faceplate with gold hands and numeral markers. The band is wonderful. It pushes in on the bottom of the band and easily opens. Then when you put it on, it easily closes. It is one of the more comfortable watches I have ever worn.

I really love the Fossil brand of watches. Fossil doesn't mind taking chances with their line, so there are always interesting and lovely watches being offered. The Mini Carlie Stainless Steel Dress Quartz Watch is no exception. It looks outstanding on the wrist and can easily be worn with a dinner dress, or dressed back down with a pair of jeans. It works with almost everything in my wardrobe.The bracelet, though, was much more difficult to adjust than the other watches I have worked on. I'm no amateur at adjusting links, and I am here to tell you that these things had to be hammered out! No, I'm not talking about strong firm taps of the hammer, I had to furiously raise the hammer like Thor-God-of-Thunder and trust the Universe that my aim was true. These things did not want to come out!I did manage to get it adjusted after removing four of the links, however. It was a messy adjustment though, and I wouldn't want to do it again. Luckily nothing was damaged and the watch itself looks fantastic.The mother of pearl backing catches and reflects light in the most interesting ways. The rose toned stainless steel looks classy. And the Japanese quartz movement will undoubtedly last for years. I love it! Highly recommended for those in search of a nice versatile fashion watch.

The blurb accompanying this watch describes it as "glitzy." However, that's not at all the word I would use for this very classic and understated timepiece. It's versatile enough that it could take you from a casual weekend outing to the office to a black tie evening and always look appropriate. It has a gorgeous opalescent mother-of-pearl face with four tiny jewels marking 12, 3, 6 and 9. The FOSSIL logo, in rose gold (to match the rest of the watch) is relatively small and unobtrusive.I normally wear large, statement-making watches (many are made for men) and would say this is a departure for me. While it isn't extremely small and delicate, the size is more traditional for a woman's watch. I also love the fact that it has a second hand (the quickest way to tell if you're watch is still working!). The only thing I should point out, if you need to adjust the band, unless you have specialized tools, you'll probably need to go to a jeweler.Overall, a lovely, very feminine and ultra-classy watch.
