Does this work on macs

on iMac 2017 OS Catalina: it will play DVDs — sometimes. I was able to rip (2) Deutsche Grammophon CDs to Apple Music and then it quit: it doesn’t matter whether the CD is CBS, EMI, Deutsche Grammonphon or one that I burned myself on an older Mac, Disc Utility can't mount them and (formerly iTunes) Music can’t read them. They show up on the desktop as “Audio CD.”

Can this be used to install windows 10 without the need to somehow install a driver first? it's rather tough to do that when trying to install an os.

People are really making this sound hard just plug it into your computer and do any scans it ask I put it on windows 8 and 10 computers. I already ripped 1000 CD's and put them on my MP-4 player and on a Flash Drive in case of a computer crash. I like my type of music not the crap on the radio today and you don't have to listen to everybody's opinion about everything.

Does this play games like sims 2?

It's played all my games without so much of a skip.

Does this work with windows 8?

It should work with Windows 8 though I only used with Windows 10. If you insert a DVD and a video player does not start up, you may need a player that will recognize the drive. On a recommendation from a friend, I installed "VLC media player" and this app opens when I insert a DVD into the Riodadas player. VLC is a free and open source media player that works with all Windows versions. You can get the player here: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Works great! Perfect for my laptop.

Great value

First one was defective wouldn’t turn on had internal failure. Did a return and I replaced it with another one. Great service received it the next day taking the defective one sending it back this week. Bingo this one works great on my HP laptop with windows 11👍 Just plug and play!

Works well!

Bought this to rip dvd's to my hard drive for personal use. Has been working perfectly fine after about 25 dvd rips. Takes somewhere between 15 and 50 minutes, depending on the size and content of the dvd. It has had trouble reading one or two of the discs, but generally works across the board. Pretty solid for the price!

Easy to use, burns CDs and plays cds

Simple plug in and use. It plays my music CDs with ease (I have a windows laptop) and also let's you burn CDs! Haven't tried it on DVDs yet, but I'll edit this when I have! It's very small and compact, so great for travel. Eject button worked great, design was simple and nice.

Functional, portable, slim design, attached cord with built grooves for cord storage. Like it a lot, plays my CD music. Plug and play, no sweat, no expensive equipment, no complicated directions. Plays from an older Dell laptop with Windows 10. Good sound.

I’m not a techie. I wanted to put some favorite old CDs on my phone but they needed to go on my PC first. This CD/DVD was priced right with good reviews. It worked great! Easy to use and did the job really well!!

Easiest thing ever

Took less than one minute to be up and running. So easy. My windows 10 did not automatically read the diver, so I have to go to my computer file. Click on dvd and you’re watching. Not tired the burn feature yet. The cable is short so be prepared to sit it next to laptop or get extender cable
