Stetson Men's Mesh Covered Hat

I really like it and it’s cool in the summer and keeps my head out of the sun.

That pic was taken within minutes of opening the box. I had read some older reviews about the hat coming in squished, and I prepared myself figuring I’d have to get a hairdryer or steamer to correct. Nope, it came in well-packed in a cardboard box with a railboard stint in the crown and surrounded by air-pillow film. I it really says something about a company that reads the reviews and makes corrections. I ordered an XL, as I have a freakishly huge pumpkin-head, and it fit perfectly. Lightweight, cool and comfortable to wear, and believe me, that’s really saying something because at the moment it’s 100 degrees and 90% humidity wear I live. Also, my wife likes the way it looks on me, and she’s VERY picky about what I wear when we go out in public. So the hat passed muster for her as well.

Looked at many hats online for weeks before deciding on this one. Glad I did. To start, I was very pleased with the excellent Amazon shipping; hat fit perfectly in the box and was nicely wrapped and was not crushed. This is a very stylish looking hat, comes in multiple colors, pick your favorite, I ordered a large size, I chose charcoal, love this color, fits my head perfectly at 23 1/8 inches. Very light and comfortable to wear. Air flows through the hat while wearing it and it has a very good feeling sweat band. Guys in my golf group complimented the hat look and the quality of the hat, and asked where I got it. Amazon of course. The hat comes with a quality hat tie down and tightening clamp for use in the wind should you need it. I decided to cut this tie down off as I prefer the hat without it. It cuts off very cleanly without a problem should you decide to do the same. I am now thinking about buying another one in a different color. Very pleased with this hat and the purchase price.

I have a couple year old version of this hat. And the one I have been wearing is an XL. So figured this one would fit just as well. This is an XL but was too big. So I returned it and got a size L hat. Waiting for that one to arrive. Anyhow...This is a nice hat. I wish Stetson would make one without the mess but just with a few holes in the top and keep the draw string. The first time I wore this style hat I got sunburned on my head, as I do not have a thick head of hair. If you have a lot of hair then this hit would be good. So I had to attach a bandana to cover the mesh at the top. And that works fine. As for the rest of the hat. I really like it. I wear it golfing, alot. And with the draw string, I can wear it on those windy days as well. The brim is firm and the hat is light.

I my hat size is 7 1/8, so I went with a medium size. Decided to go with the beaver color. It only took a couple of days to receive it by USPS. The box it was shipped it in worked out well. No crush marks on either the box or hat. Was perfect right out of the box. Put it on and it fit perfect as well. Craftsmanship on mine was great. No loose threads or logos off centered. I have worn it a number of times now. Love it. Vents work great. I can feel the wind Blow thru it. I treated mine with water repellent spray just in case I get stuck in the rain. Still retained original color after the spray dried. I have received several compliments . I have sailed with it several times now. It has held up well to the ocean winds of New England. Brow may get blown up here and there for a split second, but quickly retains it's original shape.

Ordered this hat because it was a recommendation from my dermatologist for skin cancer procedures in the past. Wore it Monday playing golf and was just what I needed. And I have a hard time finding a hat in a small size. Very rare. Thank you!!!

Finally...a hat that fits my melon PERFECTLY. My cap size is 7 3/4 and finding hats or caps that truly fit comfortably is a challenge. I bought XL, and it fits great. Wore it for the first time golfing this week, and it offered awesome protection from the sun, as well as great ventilation. The only 'negative' is that the strap is quite long. Not an issue when you are out walking the dogs, but it will drape over your shoulder when preparing to putt or swing a club. This was easily addressed by tucking it into the hat. I could probably remove it altogether, as the hat fits so well it's really not needed (unless I go boating...so may keep it). Final note, it was made in Sri Lanka. Quality is awesome on it.

The shipping box was crushed and had been re-taped when I received it. The crown was mashed nearly down to the brim. After taking it from the box I mashed it back into shape and contacted the seller. I was told that I could return it, but they had no more in stock to replace it, or I could keep it and get a 10% discount. I elected to keep it. After a couple of days of the hat sitting and me occasionally pressing the sides, the hat had nearly regained its original shape.The hat fits perfectly and I love to wear it, but I found out that the brim shape does not match the crown front to back. It is about an inch off center. The hat appears to be on my head pointed to the right slightly. I thought that I could re-form the brim by bending the wire that was stitched along the outside, but the wire is tempered and goes back to its original shape. I guess I will just have to get used to it sitting crooked on my head and use it as a work hat. It is very comfortable to wear and it blocks the sunlight well. I just can't wear it as a dress hat.Due to the way it feels on my head, I will probably order one again at a later date and hope it is better shaped.
