As a welder the helmet is sound. Great viewing area and true colour and the led works great. I did not receive a charging cord so be prepared for that.. But while the functionality of the unit is sound, it’s big and heavy in the grand scheme of things. It’s too heavy for the locking screws at the sides. Also not a huge fan out of outer controls for shade etc., as they tend to break easy but they seem pretty solid and well built. It’s a good helmet. But for tight spaces I keep my go to helmet as the bulk of this one is just to much.

I've really liked this helmet so far and the lights are awesome! I've only got 2 issues. When looking long distances the curved glass distorts thi is and messes with your vision, but welding and up close it's not noticeable so for the job it was intended to do it does t effect at all. 2nd issue was welding inside an aluminum grain trailer, the side panels in the hood don't darken and the reflection off the aluminum walls was bright, had to turn and move my head to unnatural angles at times to stop that. And the plastic it's made of does feel cheap and flimsy but it's holding up good so far.

I do welding almost monthly, I'm not a professional welder but I enjoy building projects, doing vehicle repairs working on other machines, etc. I have an auto-darkening helmet but it's fairly basic and has a small rectangular lens. What excited me about this helmet is the built-in LED lights and the large field of view, I show the helmet in my video! After opening and inspecting the welding helmet looks great and is well-designed, it's built much better than expected! The shell is made of flexible plastic but fairly thick, I like this as it doesn't crack and can flex around a respirator. The viewing area is large 100 x 95mm and there are side windows to give more of a panoramic view making the mask less claustrophobic. The helmet has Grind, Cut, and Weld modes and turns on automatically. The mask has built-in LED lights with three light levels, which are quite bright and are charged by a USB C port. The helmet's LCD filter uses two 3v lithium button cell batteries, it mentions they don't need to be replaced for around 5000 hours. The LCD cartridge has four Arc sensors, is solar activated with 9-13 shade options, and has UV DIN16 protection rating. The helmet is quite large and wide, I have a smaller head but this large size is great because a carbon filter respirator will fit under, and that's a huge plus for me! At first, I wasn't sure about the straps, but I noticed they must be adjusted properly to get the right hold. I like the cupping mount at the back it conforms to my head and holds well, after proper adjustments the helmet is quite comfortable! My older helmet was frustrating as it would slip down, this helmet with the large pad on the back holds well in place, yes it does have some weight to it, but due to the added features and viewing area, it's worth the extra weight! I tested all the Grind, Cut, and weld modes and did some welding and grinding of exhaust pipes. As it's winter and already dark when I get home I usually set up lights. With this mask, I decided to use the helmet's built-in lights only, and even in the pitch dark I can see perfectly, which is amazing! The viewing area is massive and I can see my workbench, vise, and surrounding area. I set the mask for shade 13 in weld mode, sensitivity on high and delay on medium, and the LCD filter activates quickly. This mask is true color so it's a very different experience as things can be seen, unlike my other auto-darkening mask with a green filter. I don't usually use an auto-darkening mask for grinding due to visibility but this mask gives me the full ability to see, I will be using this every time I grind. I love the Cut mode, when using my other mask I had a hard time seeing but with this mask, I can dial in any brightness, and this is a game changer for me while cutting and grinding. As for a little recommendation, when finished using the welding helmet always place it back into weld mode! The only cons I have with this mask is due to the true color filter, even on shade 13, arc welding seems quite bright and I can see white and blue light, If the helmet darkened more it would be nicer. I know it's protecting my eyes as I had no issues after welding, but it's something I'll have to get used to. I also would prefer the mask to use AAA batteries over the button cells for the auto-darkening filter. As for a brighter image when welding this mask is perfect, I feel it's a hobbyist's dream helmet! It might not be the best for daily shop use in a cluttered high-demand workplace. In conclusion, I love this welding helmet, it's an amazing mask for many tasks, and it gives a huge viewing experience with a crystal clear image! The mask is well-designed and there's no need to flip it up to see the work environment, with the built-in lights I never have to set up lights for a quick repair in the dark. This helmet is a game changer for me for cutting and girding, and it's like something from a sci-fi movie, with the lights, it's almost like a space helmet! so I'm giving the ANDELI Welding Helmet with 4 LED Lights 5 Stars.
