Amazing for beginners
I’m a violin beginner and this sticker helped me very much, its easy to identify the position of your fingers due to the lines on the sticker. Very handy and useful.

Read review for tips on application
I took the advice of a previous user of not loosening the strings, but just folding back a small strip of the backing at the narrow end, and slid the sticker under the strings, positioned it and then carefully pulled the backing off from narrow to wide end whilst gently pressing the exposed part against the fingerboard. Easy peasy and no messing around with loosening strings.A nifty little aid to make practising a lot easier.Any possible minimal damping effect on the sound is in my opinion a non-argument, as long as I am a learner I am just happy to hit the right tone, I am not playing with the London Philharmonics.

Does what it's made for
Works well. Stuck to my violin easy enough. I now use these to helpe learn music. Cheap and worthwhile.

Brilliant Idea but difficult to attach
I really liked the idea of being able to know where to put my fingers on the violin. The only problem is that my dyspraxic coordination difficulties meant it was too difficult and it kept gumming up with the strings and getting stuck in the wrong place. I had washed hands before trying to apply it but the stickyness still got a bit gungey. It's not a total loss as it acts as a separate guide.

Ok for small cost
Bought for my daughter who liked it’s clarity but thought it was a bit flimsy. I thought it was good value as I’d seen others that cost far more.

You really loosen your strings to apply so you'll have to do more than fine tuning afterwards.
I am a beginner violinist and this product really helps me place my fingers in the right place to build up the muscle memory I need to eventually be able to play without looking.

Easy to apply
Easy to apply (I left the backing on except a thin strip at the narrow end. This allowed me to align it on the neck without loosening or removing the strings. Then I pulled the backing away down the length of the neck sticking the decal down as I went). I'm a rank amateur so can't comment on whether it affects the sound or no but even if it did the ease of locating the right finger positions would be worth it.
