(Nymphaea Colorata) Hardy Water Lily Tuber Live Water Plants for Pond Balcony Porch Decorations by Greenpro

Thumb sized tuber arrived well packaged. I planted it right away and several small leaves have sprouted, though none have reached the surface yet. Heading into fall, so I’ll know more about the plant come spring.

Probably not the vendor's fault, but was delivered by USPS and just left in a hot mailbox with no notification. The package did say "Live Plants", but apparently that was not enough for them to bring it to the door. Rhizome is pretty slimy and steamy, and the little bit of sprout that it had turned black and fell off, but I got it in water immediately. Fingers crossed that it sprouts. I'll amend my review with progress.

Healthy tuber, grew well and bloomed first season. Blooms are white, NOT red as advertised.

Product arrived on time. Root was a little soft, at the end and mushy but there was growth at the tip. Now been in the water for 3 weeks. And one new leaf. Looking forward to some good growth as spring warms up. Am surprised that it is slow. Other persons have detailed very fast growth for Hardy Water Lilies. Hoping the mushy end was not a problem and don't want to dig up to see how it is rooting. Took off one star for the last 3 weeks of only one small leaf and none near the surface.UPDATE: It has been 6 weeks in the water with 6 hours minimum of sun daily. Finally, today one quarter size leaf made it to the top of the container. Seems that the 'soft spot' on the root needed to heal before any energy was put into leave production. Disappointed and do not expect any flowers this year. Other reviews discuss leaves on surface in a week. Looks like I got a sick one that is only now beginning to rally. Will keep it updated.UPDATE: 5 months later, a surprise. The flower is lovely and seems the very, very slow start has yielded a flower. Healthy leaves are on the surface and root appears in good shape. Will not change the star rating. Should not have to wait almost half a year to enjoy a flower. Had the root not been 'sick' and mushy I would have expected a faster growth and flowering. Pleased.

Ordered yellow got pink instead. Took 2 months to bloom to find this out. Pretty flower but not what I wanted. So sad.

The small tuber grew very well and as you can see has begun to flower! My only negative would be that I also, at the same time, purchased a blue lily which just sat in the water and rotted. I would be ok with that if the seller had been willing to replace it - that was all I wanted - a replacement. But it does not seem that that is going to happen. In any case, I now have a beautiful new bright red lily!!

Was hoping the water lily would be pond ready when it arrived. I’m having to let it grow some roots before putting it in my small pond.
